Monday, April 17, 3-4pm: Lab Girls
This new club empowers young women to explore science through hands-on experiments and activities. For grades 6-12. This month students will look at their own DNA with a microbiologist.  Must register.

Tuesday, April 18, 9:30-10:30am: Preschool Story Hour: Earth Day and Recycling
Join us for themed stories, songs, and activities for ages 0-6. No registration necessary for story hour.

Wednesday, April 19, 3-4pm: STEM club: Kids age 6+ will begin a series on “six simple machines”. Must pre-register.

Thursday, April 20, 3:15-4:15pm:  READ to a DOG
Kids ages 5-10 can read a book of their choice to a fuzzy, friendly dog. Call to reserve a 15-minute slot.

Saturday, April 22, 9-11am: Tech Help
Get help with individual tech questions.  You can ask any tech question and/or bring in a device with which you need help. You will be ably assisted by our techie, Josiah. Call to reserve a half hour time slot, or drop in.

Saturday, April 22, 10am-1pm: Art Bop
Libraries across Franklin County are hosting an Art Bop. Travel from library to library and see wonderful art displays, sales, and hands-on art activities.  Our library will host several artists from right here in Fairfax, plus enjoy live bluegrass music by The King and Captain! This family friendly event will also include a kids’ art table.

Meet the author of the children’s series Henry Whiskers and have a chance to get your own autographed copy of her newest book (a chapter book for young reads).  Plus make a mousey craft that ties in to the story and check out our very own mouse house in the library. No registration required.

Thursday April 13, 6:30-8pm: Non-Fiction Book Group discusses the Vermont Reads 2017 pick “Brown Girl Dreaming” by Jacqueline Woodson. Free copies available at the library that you may keep! In this important book of prose, Woodson looks back at her childhood in America as a person of color and her journey to become a writer.

Saturday, April 15, 10:30-12:30: Post-Egg Hunt Fun
Have your picture taken with the Easter Bunny, drink some cocoa and make a spring craft after the Egg Hunt in the Rec Park. No registration required.

Thursday-Friday, December 29-30: Stuffed Animal Sleepover
Drop off stuffed animals Thursday between 5-7pm, hear a story and do a craft.  Pick up stuffed animals Friday morning at 9:30am for a kids’ pancake breakfast and slideshow of all the fun the stuffies had.
