I think this is a great idea, could people just insert pics on this topic?  Or is there a photo gallery somewhere?

Ahhhh it all makes sense now!  I love how the media takes a story and really runs with it before all the information is out

This is a sad scary situation.  So basically we are being taught by this story that we are not suppose to protect ourselves from danger?  I really really hope there is more to this story then what the free press is reporting, if not this is a scary thing.  I know there are people out there that say no need to protect yourself thats the job of law enforcement but remember when danger to you or your family is only moments away, the local police are usually minutes away.

Like I said I really really hope there is more to this story then what we're being told.

Sunday morning I went to Randy Locke's place up in waterville to drop my deer off to be cut up, and was extremely surprised how many moose were also being brought in.  I was there for probably a half hour and saw 5-6 bulls come in.

No doubt the permitting process can be extremely frusturating, but I'm glad they stuck with it!

Sounds like a great trail I'll have to go for a walk down there sometime.  Last time I was on that trail was probably for soccer 6am runs 10-12 years ago!  Back then it was full of mud holes and ankle breaking roots.  Sounds much better now!

When I was pretty young my parents and I lived in the suburbs of Washington D.C.  Two different times while visiting family up here in Vermont we were burglarized.  After the 2nd time my parents asked one of the cops how they could prevent this and his answer was "buy a pistol, and if someone comes thru that door that you didn't want to come thru that door, pull that trigger till it go click, and if they fall out of the door drag em back in!"  We kinda say it now as a joke, but I highly doubt you'd hear an officer say that in todays day and age.

I don't know how many people around here knew Mackenzie Pratt from Hyde Park, but she passed away late sunday evening after battling cancer for several years.  She was a stand out student athlete for Lamoille, and Norwich.  I didn't personally know her, but my sister played with, and against her in softball, and said she was a great person.  Sad story, heres the article from the free press

How many people 15-20 years ago said "whats this e-mail thing? doesn't make sense, I don't' understand it, and writing letters is just easier!"  Now back to present day when was the last time you wrote a letter?  Yes whenever something first comes out there is definitely a "work in progress" time but generally it will all work out for the better.  My girlfriend works at fahc and yes the new electronic records program "prism" had some touch and go times but its gotten a lot better recently and most employees are quite smooth with it now.  Its quite beneficial to have every patients information available in every department in every room all at the touch of a button.

My girlfriend, and her mother went to riverberry last weekend and were quite surprised at how many raspberries were left for pick your own, and they were delicious!  They also bought corn on the cob there and again it was great!

« on: September 14, 2010, 08:23:28 AM »
gotta love the nice warm feel of wood.  Plus if you got the land and the resources only cost sweat, and hopefully only a little blood haha.

On kinda a side note if there are anyone out there looking for firewood for this year I know Larry Cota up in fletcher has an abundance of good dry fire wood for sale.  his cell is 802-782-0245

You are 100% correct the rules say the flag should not be worn as a garment of clothing or on a garment of clothing, but whats a bigger disrespect to our nations flag?  Having it on a t-shirt, or lowered from the flag pole and burned?  Its bad enough that sort of thing happens on a daily basis in certain countries overseas, but its also becoming common place on our own soil, and we're suppose to turn a blind eye b/c whoever is burning it "its their right to do what they want", but not our right to speak up over it?  Whatever this is going to turn into a completely different topic so we'll keep that one for a different day.

My gripe about the burlington schools taking today off for a Muslim holiday is this.  How often do you hear people complaining about how religion shouldn't be in schools?  The pledge of allegiance can't be said in the classroom anymore because it says "one nation under god".  But a school gives a religious holiday to a religion that at that school takes up around 7.5% of the population?  If we're going to keep all of our residents happy should we also have these days off?

January 26th:  Australia Day
February 14th:  the Chinese New Year
Ash Wednesday
March 17th(st patricks day):  Irish religious holiday
Good Friday:  Christian religious holiday

Could go on and on.  I'm just saying if religion should be kept out of school then ALL religion should be kept out of school.  Just my opinion.

To add to your post Josh, that same day, I believe same school a couple kids wore tee-shirts that had american flags on them.  The school actually threatened them if the tee-shirts weren't removed they would be suspended.  This is in America!!!  Heres the article

On a side note what does everyone think of Burlington shutting down all its schools today so that their muslim resisdents can observe their religious holiday today?  Kinda rubs me the wrong way.
