We tried the Apollo's in Milton a couple months ago, and we thought the food was really good!  Prices were a little more expensive then what the old country pantry use to have, but I didn't think they were terrible.  Its definitely our "breakfast spot" from now on.  The old dinner feel is kinda neat too.

Announcements / Essex Condo for sale
« on: January 25, 2011, 08:29:17 AM »
Hey Everyone,

I'm trying to sell my 1-bedroom condo in Essex.  Its in the Cornerston Common condo complex at the intersection of Susie Wilson Road and Kellogg Road.  I've completely gone through the whole thing and pretty much remodeled everything, new flooring throughout, all new bathroom, new countertops in the kitchen, and all new paint.  Its very convenient to IBM, Fletcher Allen, Fanny Allen, UVM, St. Mikes.  Take a look at the craigslist add below.

If anyone is interested either reply to the craigslist add, or call Ryan at 802-598-5852.  Thanks!

Rev keep an eye for anymore suspicious activity down by that dump site.  Theres been an ongoing poaching problem throughout fairfax and fletcher the last couple years, and busting a couple of these guys would be great!  I know a lot of local hunters sure would appreciate it!

That'a boy Josh, more people need to do their part with the coyote population, its kinda blown up the last couple years.  You've got more land to play with then I do, but I got a little trick for coyotes that I've heard works good.  Take those random deer parts that the Rev is talking about with some other random meat, mix it with water and a good amount of household sugar, put it all in a 5gal bucket with a chain sticking out of the bucket and freeze it solid.  When its froze heat the outside of the bucket to get the "meat Popsicle" out and go chain it to a tree.  I've heard they love sugar and can't leave it alone.  Let me know if it works!

I was thinking the samething Josh, that its awful late in the year for people to still have deer parts, and that its probably a poacher.  You got a spot to dump them?  Is this 100yds from  your back deck? ;-) good coyote bait

Loctavious come back from the dream world remember this is fairfax they don't put any money towards their athletics.  Although personally I think this would be a great idea!  I attended the essex, st. albans hockey game last night in essex, and they've done an excellent job on that rink.  Nice to see a school that isn't afraid to put some money into athletics ;-)

I love it Thor!  Great zing! haha

Honestly if the Town offices have had a good year and there is money left in the office expense budget then go ahead and have a party, and yes $225 is a very cheap holiday party for what? 20 something employees?  I think a lot of you would be very very surprised where a lot of your tax money gets spent, if you knew half of it you would be happy with $225 going to something that actually made sense!

To all the Town Employees reading this Have a Merry Christmas and a happy holiday!  You all deserve it and enjoy! ;-)

Current News & Events / Re: Night Hunting ?
« on: December 03, 2010, 08:31:39 AM »
Well unfortunately this happens all to often.  I think most people would be surprised how many deer are shot out of legal season and after legal hours.  Every year in the area I hunt in fletcher/fairfax there are numerous stories of people "jackin" deer.  I'm not saying this is what you saw but just throwing it out there.

Also keep in mind that people can hunt coyotes 24 hours a day, they just can not use lights to illuminate them.  Coyotes are really on the move this time of year, I shot two last sunday ;-)

Thanks Henry for the info.

Nope Sorry Rev that wasn't us.  Although I'm sure you'll be seeing us in a week or two!

On a side note does anyone know of anything in the area where hunters who have had successful deer hunting seasons this year can donate venison to a food shelf or something?  I know there are several states that have programs for this.  Ohio has "Hunters for the hungry", and Iowa has the "HUSH Program" Help Us Stop Hunger.  I think this would be a great program for Vermont.  I know several sportsman and sportswoman in the area that would probably participate

I don't know how other people feel about this but really I feel like the TSA is in a no win situation right now.  So everyone is calling for tighter security to avoid another 9/11 incident but then they don't like being involved in the tighter security.

Personally I don't have a problem walking thru one of the scanners as long as Everyone has to walk thru them.  This way there is no question about the safety on our planes, and there is no singling out due to sex, age, race.

I believe Brendan did get a deer, actually I believe this is his 3rd one this year, he's had a good year!  I'm pretty sure the one he just got in rifle was a very nice 8 pointer!
