Current News & Events / Re: Speed Limit Change On Fletcher Road

It is absolutely SILLY where they put the signs.  You have to ride your breaks down that hill (imagine that in the winter) and if this is a permanent thing then I would like to know who to contact.  I can understand it turning 30 just before Steve Ratte's.

And what did the Sheriff do last night, wait for everyone during rush hour traffic and pulled people over! Unbelieveable! I think that all who got tickets yesterday should complain to the Sheriff's department as they clearly focused on it to generate revenue because they knew people may just be seeing it for the first time. NOW, if they only pulled people over to give them a warning and inform the driver of the new speed limit, I would be OK with that.

Being Henry's daughter and neighbor, I have to say we have had way too many of them squatting in our yards...   Always entertaining to hear what has worked for someone else and Dad whips up the formula they recommended only for it to fail.

Oh yeah, let's just say the "Whack-A-Mole" game makes it way too easy.  Those little buggers are fast, but I understand now why someone would create that game.....

However, I have to say I will take moles over living in a city any day!! :-)

Clicking on links is the most popular way to get a virus on Facebook.  You will get things from a friend that say "Check this out" or "LOL" with a link.  Usually it goes to several people.  You can receive it on your Wall or in your Facebook Email. Either way remove it from your wall or delete the email without clicking on it and you should be fine.

Always important to keep you antivirus up to date and ALWAYS running.  Scan your entire drive once a week, and remember if it doesn't look like something that person would send or do, they probably didn't.......

Being Henry's Daughter, we did not have PEEPS!  Just kidding, we got some in our baskets.  Now I know why Dad never wanted them!

I went to the SuperStore a week and a half ago and did a "Layway" on a new couch and kitchen table & chairs.  It was great to be able to go prior to the Sales Tax Holiday and they will just run the payment on Saturday and deliver it next week.  I didn't have to deal with a ton of people and I got what I wanted and saved on the sales tax!

Very excited to finally have the new furniture!!

I personally would like to see a Walmart in Franklin County.  When all of the Ames, Woolworth's closed it took a toll on many in the northern parts of Vermont.  Travelling to Williston can be quite the trip for many and as people get older, and when finances are even tighter, it can become an impossible trip.

I truly believe it will increase business for St. Albans as traffic will not steer to Williston but to St. Albans to do their shopping.  Why do I shop at Walmart, for price sometimes and other times it is because I can't find what I need elsewhere locally.

Good businesses in St. Albans will do better.  Those who over price and take advantage of the local consumer because there are no options, well they get what is coming to them.

When McDonald's was the only fast food in town and Burger King wanted to come in, did we see uproar. I agree with you have the right to choose to NOT go to Walmart.  Many could benefit from this store for multiple reasons.

Thoughts and prayers to Andy, Kim, and family.  Unfortunately, doing the right thing for the police, most likely put himself as a target.

I love the new Steeple Market!  Being on a "Healthy Eating and Exercise Program" right now, I am able to pick up something on the fly there that meets my needs. Plus once a month I eat their yummy Prime Rib they cook on Thursday nights.

The staff is terrific and they seem to really enjoy working there as well!

If the food is as tasty as it is at 158 Main in Jeffersonville, I don't care what they call it ;-)  Looking forward to it opening.
