Hi Missy,

Yes a small world indeed.   I have traveled through Davenport several times,  my son had various baseball tournaments in Auburndale, Winter Haven, and Lake Alfred.

Go Rays -- Go Bucs !    Mike M

Misswafl,

I live in the Tampa Metro Area, Carrollwood area, just north of Raymond James Stadium.   What is your name ?  I was raised in Fairfax,  graduated in 1977.  I went to college that fall and lived in the Burlington area until 1992 -- I moved to Tampa in February 1992 and have recently celebrated 17 years in the Sunshine State.

Should be an interesting season -- My Rays have improved in the outfield, bull-pen and starting pitching.  Of course the hated Yankees have spent another pile of cash, let them spent their cash to stimulate the economy :-)   -- and the Red Sox have the most potential of any team in the American League East, including returning AL MVP ..  Should be a very exciting year.

Dick, I will call you, my sons and I would like to take you to a game at the Trop !!

For what it's worth -- I work for AT&T, it was announced yesterday, no Pay Increases for 2009  --  I fully understand and support this approach.   But I do have issues with Corporate America that have been provided Hundreds of Millions of Dollars from the Federal Government AND executives getting bonuses and spending millions on Corporate Jets,  Fancy Offices and other perks.    What is the deal ?  No accountability and no business ethics,  the executives think they are 'entitled' and basically spent as see fit.  ( after making horrible business decisions )

Chris,

I believe your esteemed local resident -- your neighbor down the street,  scored over 1000 points as well,  Mr.  David Keefe.  In addition,  It is also my understanding David still holds the single game scoring record -- 50 points -- in a single game -- at Richford.

I'm sure there are folks out there that can confirm my points.

Henry and Captain Potter,

Probably a dumb question .. but I have to ask .. Why is the Town Fire Department working on flooded basement for a Commercial Business ?  if I owned the business,  I would be renting my own pump and manning the pump myself.. In other words,  I would be responsible for my own building ( powering down if there was a potential for mixing water and electricity )

My 2 Cents ----  First thing  I thought of when I saw Mike's pictures .. Why is the Town working this building owner's trouble ?     What am I missing ?  Does the Town charge the owner for this non-fire related building issue ?

Henry,

Spencer is right.  It basically works like this -- If you wanted garanteed play-off tickets,  the Rays demanded you buy a package for 2009.  Minimum of 20 games --  Some Up side -- You were able to purchase play-off tickets and you get to pick the 20 games you wanted to attend in 2009  -- Down Side -->  Cost you money up-front -- Summarize :  If you wanted the right to buy Playoff tickets, to all play-off rounds including the World Series,  you had to purchase 20 seats per play-off ticket you were seeking.

Readers,

Four McNalls were at the game last night, including current resident David.   David was the only one disappointed,  but he was still very impressed with the overall experience.  We were in the Right Field Stands,  standing most of the game,  which is what I perfer.  The Rays never ever quit, unreal story... Back to the real world today.

Note -- Our tickets last night were relatively cheap,  $30 plus surcharges --  I just checked the prices for the World Series -- get this one -- Tickets start at $ 100 plus surcharges,  my same seat as last night is runnning  $ 150 --   Needless to say, we will be watching from home --

Go Rays !! -- Mike McNall  -- BFA 1977

Red Sox Nation -- Congratulations on a Nice Season --- But this transplanted Vermonter, now living in Tampa, is cheering for another team.    I know I'm totally out-numbered --- But I have to speak out for my Tampa Bay Rays --  I have tickets to Game 2 -- and will be cheering loud and proud for these Loveable Rays !!   The best Story in baseball in years,  who though the lowly Rays, the Last Place Rays,  who never beat Boston or those Nasty Yankees == We beat them during the regular season,  including taking 2 out of 3 in the best venue in baseball ..  The Rays are Ready !! They have "  Starting Pitching,  Bull-Pen terrors,  Closer,  Defense,  Power, Speed and most important,  team chemistry -- This a young team that learned how to beat the Big Boys this past summer.  We are now playing in October -- We have Home Field advantage and had the best record at home in the majors -- You could not have asked for a better match-up --  Bring On the defending World Champions ... The Over Achieving Rays are ready to dethrone Red Sox Nation !! ..  Get your Cowbells Out -- and Cheer on the new kids on the block ---  Go Rays !!

I accept all feedback -- positive and negative --  I entered enemy terrortory and perhaps Henry may even ban me from his forum  :-)  But thought you guys should know the Rays are for real and this should be ONE HECK of Series -- I am ready to stay up late and watch my Boys of Summer become the Men of Fall !!    Go Rays !!

Go Rays !!!!

Henry,

Are you soliciting for guesses ?   Do you know where the photo was taken ?

My perspective only here -- which is obviously slanted toward McNall Road.   I think this photo was taken from one of meadows on top of the hill.     The ledge , fence line and ridges in background all look very familiar.  ( Field located on South Side of McNall Road )  ...   If' I'm wrong,  no worries, I'm getting old ...........

Thanks for everything,  this website keeps us transplants informed of the local news --

My two cents --  Loctavious is right on ---  The fights of day typically include weapons.  This applies to the large urban areas and the rural regions too.   ( think about Alicia Shanks  ) The last thing I would do would intervene between two groups that are looking to harm each other .. I too have a family which depends on me.  Sure i would call 911 to report the disturbance,  but let the prefessionals handle the crazies ( regardless of race or country of origin ) .. And correct me if I'm wrong -- doesn't dearon live behind a steel fence ??!!  What is she afraid of ?

This may not be very popular, but then again, maybe it will be.   If anyone deserves the death penalty it is this cretin.   ...Period..

This human being is still alive while he left his victim shot dead behind a closed door, in her elementary classroom.  I knew Alicia well and thought the world of her, she was giver to everyone she touched.   She was devoted to teaching and helping --- What was this killer devoted to ?
