Mike, Photo location --- Not sure you know this, the hill you walk up and down every day, was called " Marvin Hill " named for the previous owner, Fay Marvin. He was an owner of the Swanson property before Dr. Orton. Fay also was my Great-Grandfather on my mother's side. Buried in the Plains Cemetary. And as you know, the utility pole in your photo, is located on my parents 'lawn' .. Ma mows most of the grass, ( except the steep bank along the road ) --- Little History for you --- Mike McNall

TRussell,
I agree, the Keurig is awesome appliance -- My Car Dealer has one, always get a cup when there. And The Car Dealer uses Green Mountain Coffee too ! The Hotel Chains are slowly migrating to a cheaper version of the Keurig too. Between my wife and I we drink 10 cups per day, our existing pot does the trick.. Enjoy the Coffee how ever it is made -- it's the best drink ever !!

Coffee Lovers,
Nothing better than my coffee in the AM... My wife and I can not function without it.. She usually prepares the pot the night before -- We have our second Cuisinart Maker -- with built-in Grinder --- It doesn't get any better than this --- A Simple pleasure --- especially on the weekends, I sit outside, sipping my coffee and reading my newspaper.. ( my delivery guy is very reliable, no issues in Tampa, although my paper has gotten much smaller as well )

Environmental Concerns ? I would expect the very strict Vermont guidelines to apply ( and work effectively ). Sounds like the competition is nervous to me. and ............. The Cost Savings to Costco Members is relatively small too -- ( typicallly a couple of cents per gallon ) not worth a special trip --

Henry,
I was outraged over the weekend - I sent emails to my Senators and House Representative on Sunday Afternon. In addition, I called the AIG Contact number, spoke wit ha very nice lady she took my name and number. My call purpose : AIG Executives, I understand you have a contract with your employer. But this contract should be voided when your company loses over $ 61 Billion in the 3th Quarter '08 and the Tax Payers have ponied up $ 170 Billion to keep your business up and running.
From our Vermont roots, this Corporate behaviour is UNACCEPTABLE. The American People have spoken. Bonus awards for Executives running a corporation with Bilion Dollars is UNACCEPTABLE !!
Finally, I do not support Salary Caps on Executives -- IF their Corporations have NOT Taken any money from the Federal Government .. I will make an assumption, these corporations are profitable and the corporation can award the big-boys as the BoD approves.
My Two cents --

Another Mother Board Bites the Dust.
We had a eMachine Desktop ( a low-cost PC, aka a cheap one ) --- Not sure when we bought it - -around 5 years ago -- it was running super slow -- brought it to the Geek Squad --- Their initial assessment indicated there was some clean-up required ( purge & tune ) we approved --- Two days later, we assume, while they Geeks were working on it , bam --- The Motherboard died ---- The Desktop was not worth the cost of replacement --- And they still wanted to charge us for the 'tuning' activity , no way Jose, after multiple calls to the manager, all repair charges were waived.

Henry,
Is there a newspaper article I can review on this subject ?
I keep in touch with several IBMers and I heard similiar things, the spin I have heard includes the State of Vermont ( not providing tax incentives ). I'm aware that IBM has 'fought' the Village for several years now concerning the Assessment Values of their Property and Capital Equipment Values.
I totally agree with your perspective, the locals ( and State ) do not know how good they have it. The Local Authorities should be catering to this business and not be pushing it out -- In my opinion, they need to partner with IBM to ensure another 52 years of local and state support.
