THE OLD GEORGIA HILL BRIDGE

I am not sure of the year that these pictures were taken, but I'm thinking late 1980's. Back then it was called Georgia Hill Road. Now it's McNall Road. This was when the old and very small bridge was in the process of being replaced.. and from the looks of where the new and current bridge was about to go, the road has been straightened as well.

3/27/10 I added a picture of the current bridge.

Some great old photos Mike - Back in the 50s I know a number of young people used to go up there swimming after a hot day.

This Small Iron Bridge had a wooden base before it was upgraded --  and it was super narrow -- Farm Equipement only squeezed by with a few inches to spare.    And yes - during the 50s and 60s swimming was very popular there.

Henry,

These are recent photos; within this year and last.  And, yes, kids and adults still visit the river on hot summer days.  Feel free to add to the blog.
