LOCATION (specific): 455 New Boston Road Norwich, Vermont

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Norwich, Vermont

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 05-31-2010 The Norwich Fire Department responded to 455 New Boston Road In Norwich for a report of a house explosion. Upon arrival the Fire Department found the home scattered over a large area. A small fire in the back yard was quickly extinguished. No one was injured in the incident and the approximate loss is estimated at $500,000.00. Chief Leinoff requested an origin and cause investigation. The Vermont State Police Fire Team and the Department of Public Safety Fire Investigation Unit responded. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
