Swanton board names Coon interim principal

SWANTON — The Swanton school board has appointed assistant principal Brent Coon as interim principal for the 2010-2011 school year.

Franklin Northwest Supervisory Union superintendent Jack McCarthy made the announcement.

The board will decide in December 2010 or January 2011 whether to open the position or make Coon's appointment permanent.

Coon will step in for current principal Julie Benay, who has taken the job of principal Malletts Bay School in Colchester. The third through fifth grade school has about 500 students.

The board will now be looking for a new assistant principal.

Wow .... Fairfax's loss and Swanton's gain!

It's a double edge sword!  I was hopeful that one day in the near future Brent would be a Principal here in Fairfax where we could benefit from what we generated!

Well,  either way sounds like Brent will do well - Good Luck to Brent!
