Calling all woodworkers! The state of Vermont needs your design skills. The Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation has begun what some have nicknamed "Operation Outhouse."
The department wants to replace some of its backwoods outhouses with new designs, complaining that a few of the old structures in particular are run-down, offensive, and difficult to maintain.
So parks managers are asking woodworkers and architects to submit "green" designs for attractive outhouses. They will go over existing bases for composting toilets.
This could be your big chance to have a sign on your completed structure that says, designed and built by you.
