Picture of the Day March 28, 2009

Fairfax Village Friday morning. Is it me, or is something missing?

SOMETHING'S MISSING
Headed up Michelle Road for the first time since Christmas Eve and looked back.
Very strange.
It's really gone.
I am going through all my pictures and trying to find ones of the building to do a time lapse.

I will always remember walking around in there. The other day, I went over to where the front door was and walked around on the slab. Front entrance here, front counter here. I usually stood here checking out.
Sigh.
I still remember the front counter when Berardinalli's first opened. The entry way. The ATM annex.
Betsy always kept the shelves stocked with baseball cards. Hockey and basketball cards, too.
And the one summer, the Burlington News Agency actually delivered out-of-town newspapers. I bought a Boston Globe everyday.
Then they claimed they weren't making money, so they stopped. I was able to get the last copy of The National, the first and only newspaper that was just sports.
I haven't bought a Sunday Boston Globe since the fire. I know they have them up to Minor's, but........
Sigh. Here's hoping..................

Our Fairfax Historical Calendar will definitely need a photo of the skyline of Fairfax Village with the Steeple of The Old St. Lukes - You are right Mike, there is something missing.

Had someone approach me at Church last night asking if we had any good photos of the Old Church taken before it burned.
