ARE THINGS REALLY THIS BAD??

Holy Cow!
UVM is dropping baseball and softball after this spring.
I guess I can understand why. They spend most of the season down south because we still have snow on the ground until April when the season is half over.
But baseball and softball is like one of the three big sports. Of course, they haven't had football in eons. And usually when I mention the big three, I forget hockey because we don't have that over here.
So now the major spring sport for UVM will be...............track and field? Lacrosse?
I have a feeling this could get ugly before this is over.
Of course, if a bunch of Alumni pony up a couple of million bucks, they could keep the programs going.
Then again, maybe that's what UVM is hoping for.
Did anyone get the Phil Rizzuto reference? How about that? A Red Sox fan quoting a famous Yankee.

Last season for baseball?  WOW!  I just bought tickets to see them play Vanderbilt here in Nashville next weekend!  Guess the games will really mean something.

I told my wife that a husband is like a fine wine; he gets better with age. The next day, she locked me in the cellar.
