Steeple Market Robbed Last Night Around 9 p.m.

Police say the man walked into the Steeple Market, where the Old St. Luke Church used to be, at about 9 p.m. and demanded cash from the clerk. The suspect was wearing a a backwards sweatshirt -- similar to one worn by the infamous Backward Bandit. But it doesn't appear this suspect was armed with a weapon.

He took off on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. Police are still looking for him at this hour.

The thief has been to Fairfax before and it is believed he has friends here.
