SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On 12/5/14 Troopers from the Saint Albans Barracks responded to a single vehicle  crash on Interstate 89 S mm 105 in the Town of Georgia. Troopers arrived on scene and observed a 2007 Subaru Impreza hatch back fully engulfed in flames.

The male operator was identified as Timothy Martin 21 yo of St Albans. Initial investigations indicate that Martin was travelling south on Interstate 89 in the area of mm 105. Martin then veered off the left shoulder of the roadway and struck a rock ledge in the median. Martin then crossed back across the Interstate and hit a set of guard rails on the right side of the roadway. Upon striking the guard rails the vehicle caught on fire.

State Police suspect that alcohol was a factor in this crash.

Martin was transported by AmCare to the University of Vermont Medical Center for treatment. Martin had suffered severe injuries during the crash.

Georgia FD assisted with putting the car fire out.
