A former long-time Channel 3 News employee is charged with animal cruelty after prosecutors say he neglected horses on his farm.

Spring Hill Horse Rescue released photos of three horses after removing the animals from the Shelburne property of George Wilson and Ann Gilbreth. The horse group says the animals were suffering from serious neglect and there was evidence of many other dead horses in Wilson's barn.

Wilson pleaded not guilty.

The judge dismissed charges against Gilbreth for lack of probable cause.

Wilson worked for WCAX-TV for nearly 35 years as a reporter, assignment editor and news anchor the Channel 3 News at Noon. He left Channel 3 in 2006.

REALLY??!!  He gets off for lack of probable cause?? Did they not see the pictures???  He ought to be left in a barn underfed through the temps we have had rarely seeing the light of day.  And then Spring Hill Horse Rescue gets publicity for this; guess I am missing something here.

The probable cause was his wife or significant other who they dropped the charges against.  I believe they are still charging him and he is pleading not guilty.  Looks like quite a bit of proof from what I saw that he is indeed guilty.  He told reporters after the hearing this morning that he felt authorities over reacted to the situation
