The Guard was training in the Notch today.
They told us that they had spent the night in snow caves.
They were the Mountain Div in Jericho.

Amazing what they do in the cold temperatures to prepare for any emergencies where this training is invaluable!  Way to go VT National Guard!

Great photos!  I remember one year, I was skiing over Sterling Pond from Smuggler's Notch Ski area back to Stowe.  The Nat. Guard was lost up there.  They didn't know how to get back to Stowe.  I had a great time leading the troops to safety!  it was funny to have them all following me!!  (my only military experience)  Have a great day Vermont!  Looks like it's a pretty one from all the photos I saw of the sunrise today!  Sooz
