PRESS RELEASE
St. Albans Police Department

On 4/09/2012 at approximately 4:44 a.m. the St. Albans Police Department responded to 701 Jewett Avenue in St. Albans Town for a reported armed robbery.  When Police arrived on scene they learned that a female victim had been robbed as she was entering her vehicle. The suspect displayed a handgun during the robbery and after stealing the victim’s money made her lay face down on the lawn as he stole her vehicle. The lone male suspect is described as 5’6” to 5’7”, thin build white male wearing a dark color hooded sweatshirt and a face mask. The victim’s vehicle was located by St. Albans Police Officers at approximately 5:48 a.m. within a short distance of the scene of the robbery.

There have been two (2) other, similar robberies in the St. Albans area since April 1, 2012.   

• On April 1, 2012 at 12:22 am reported Armed Robbery at 17 Rugg Street. The male victim was robbed at gunpoint after parking his vehicle in his driveway.
• On 4/05/2012 at 11:57 p.m. reported Armed Robbery at South Main Grocery. The female victim was robbed at gunpoint as she exited her vehicle to enter the store. 

In each of the robberies the suspect is described as: white male, 5’6 to 5’10”, thin build wearing a dark color hooded sweatshirt and a mask. The suspect is described as being armed with a dark colored hand gun in each of the three cases.
 
Police are urging citizens to be aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity or persons immediately. Anyone with information relating to this incident is urged to call the St. Albans Police Department @ 802-524-2166.

The police have the video, it has not been supplied yet.
