The timimg was just right. The angle of the sun off Mill Brook lit up the underside of the bridge.

In 1990 the bridge underwent a major renovation. The stone foundation was removed and a cement one was put in. The bridge was also raised a good couple of feet, so the water coming down Maple Street would stay out of the bridge.

A good thing the bridge was raised 2 feet.  This spring, the water level was up to about 12 - 18" below the bottom of the bridge.  If it hadnt been raised back then, it might have been washed away this past May.
