MY ADVENTURE WITH FANTASY RACING
The Shrewsbury Fire Department have an annual NASCAR Fantasy Racing league. Usually they advertise in the Racin' Paper. This year they sent forms to different fire departments, and Fairfax was one of them. I had thought of trying it out before, and this year gave it a go.
You have $10,000. Drivers are assigned values from $2,200(Jimmie Johnson) to $400 for someone like Casey Mears. You pick 8 drivers, no more, no less, and you total has to be ten grand or less.
My eight drivers are:
Denny Hamlin
Kevin Harvick
Kyle Busch
David Reutimann
Juan Pablo Montoya
Kasey Kahne
Brad Keselowski
Brian Vickers.
I took three top ten drivers, three mid pack guys, and 2 backmarkers.
I was trying for drivers who were consistant and competitive.
I jinxed Harvick, who blew, Hamlin had problems, Reutimenn caused the big one, and only two guys finished in the top ten.
But it's a long season so anything is possible.
Although right now, I am 752nd in the standings.
Long season indeed.
