The last pic is of the 20kw diesel generator used to power the lighted on the truck. Ireland had 3 trucks this year and it takes about three days per truck to decorate.  Although they don't charge to being the truck, any donations they receive go to the SD Ireland Cancer Research Fund, which supports cancer research at UVM (hence the pink ribbon on the front) - Trevor

I've always wondered how they get the lights to stick on the truck?
Anyone know?

Surely it's packing tape, or something heavy duty?

Drewcrash, thanks for the laugh!

Thankfully, Suzy is very tolerant of me... Which is amazing since we've never actually met ;)

Suzy- Lisa will be happy to slap me for you.

I think you learn a lot of tolerance growing up in a small town....A town that's too small to have cliques.  If you're in a clique in Fairfax, you are probably have one or two friends!  (or at least it was like that when I was growing up)...if you didn't get along with everybody, you didn't have any friends!

The beauty of our country (and the small town of Fairfax) is that we can voice our opinions whether we agree or not, and still gather underneath the lights of Christmas, full of hope, and wishes for Peace On Earth!

Merry Christmas Everyone!  I hope you find the spirit of Christmas lurking somewhere underneath all that dashing through the snow, and frantic holiday (yes, I did say holiday) rush.  I think I found a little bit of it right here...

Trevor,
Are you sure it wasn't conservative use transparent tape?  ;D

No Suzy, I'm sure it was liberal use of tape.  Way more than they needed.  Had it been conservative use, they would have been able to do more with less and still have awesome results.  Just sayin.
