Traffic back open on I-89

COLCHESTER -- Interstate-89 is back open for traffic on the north bound side.

Interstate Northbound traffic was re-routed in Colchester at Exit 16 and Southbound at Exit 17 because of downed phone lines that were lying across the I-89 U.S. 7 overpass bridge in Colchester.

Margie called me to find out what was going on because she was stuck in traffic.

Well, somebody got it wrong about the Traffic Back open.  Mary Kay called a little before 9 a.m. and was still moving about 3 miles an hour on the Middle Road and hadn't made it in to work yet.  Don't know what the real scoop is, but understand those in line on their way to work are listening to their CDs or something.

At least its a beautiful day

It now says that Northbound traffic was opened earlier and Southbound opened a little after 9 a.m.  I suspect commuters will disagree with the reports from what I hear anyhow.

Traffic was backed up at the Milton exit.
She spent over an hour stuck in traffic.
Within 500 ft of the Milton exit, people were using the turnaround in the median, and head north.
As she got closer, some were getting off at 17 to go Rt.7. As she got closer, she saw someone moving cones. She asked how long she should wait, and was told they were opening things up shortly.
She was the first one to continue on 89, and went from 17 to Shelburne Road in.......
15 minutes.
She got to work around 9:15.
