Henry,
There is a different parking lot from the Winooski front lot. If you go past the traffic light by the school, get in the left lane, there is a street on the left (not sure of the name). Past the Go Go Gas station I believe. Take the left and go to the end of the street (watch the speed bumps there are several). Take a left and then another left and that parking lot gets you right behind the press box. Fifty feet from the field. No hills.
Let's not all forget BFA vs. Springfield at home with a 12:30 p.m. senior day event, followed by kick-off at 1:00 p.m. Saturday. Bring cow bells, horns, and lot's of spirit. Should be a fun event.
We will be at Winooski High School next Friday for the "Battle for the Bonnet" with kick-off at 7:00 p.m.
Go Bullets!
-Karen

BFA is stepping up the defense. The player on the right was blocked. The boys played hard and it was a great day for Fairfax football. Youth teams (7/8 and 5/6) are 2-0, which has never happened. Bullets are 1-0 in Divsion III play, 1-1 overall. We thank the community for supporting Fairfax football.

Go to their websites; they may have printable coupons and sometimes announce "special deals of the day". Good luck.

I'm sure the Saint Albans Messenger will have some kind of write-up in Monday's edition. They have done a great job of covering the baseball and softball Little League tournaments!

The football team has started the process of building a weight room and looking for good, used (or new) equipment to add to the collection. If you have something you would like to contribute, please contact gkmcnall@myfairpoint.net. Send a picture of the equipment along with the email and one of the members of the coaching staff will contact you. Thank you.

To All,
The 2010 Football season is just around the corner. In preparation for the season, the Vermont Football Officials Association (VFOA) is hosting an "On-Field 4 Man Football Official's Mechanics Clinic" at South Burlington High School's Artificial Turf Football Field on Saturday August 7th, 2010 . Start time is at 9:00 AM concluding at Noon or earlier depending on program participation and discussions. Attendance is free. All we ask is to bring your enthusiasm for Football. The half day event will cover pre-game and game play mechanics (Free Kick, Scrimmage Kick, Kick after Safety, Field Goal and PAT, Line Play and Pass Play coverage) for each of the four official positions on the field (Referee, Umpire, Linesman and Lines Judge).
This Clinic is mandatory for all VFOA Non Boarded Officials and newly Boarded officials. Many veteran Varsity Officials attended last year providing the opportunity for junior officials to shadow the veterans by position and participate in position specific discussions sharing their expertise. Last year there were over 25 officials in attendance.
This is a great opportunity for NVYFL Coaches and prospective NVYFL Officials in Training to gain knowledge of the working aspects of Football Officiating. Have you ever wondered what the signals the Linesman and Lines Judge were making before the snap meant ? or Where the Lines Judge was looking during a Pass play and when ? or Who has the job to make sure the Center/Snapper is protected ? or What Player Keys are and how they are used by the Officials to read plays and set up coverage ? Better yet, what does it mean when a covering official first winds one of their arms twice and then follows with a stop game clock signal when positioned at the side line ? (seems confusing, but it does have a specific meaning) . These questions and many more will be answered to include many more Official Communication Signals demonstrated and explained by each official's position.
The VFOA will have Veteran Officials as Key Note Presenters , some of which have been Officials for over 25 years and have officiated Youth League, High School, NCAA/ECAC College Football to include Semi-Pro NIFL & NEFL Leagues. • Mechanics Team Lead and Spokesman for the Referee Position : Doug Harris, with alternate Steve Stoddard • Spokesman for the Umpire Position : Steve Stoddard • Spokespersons for the Linesman and Lines Judges Positions : Marc Fortier and George Maille
Don't miss this "On-Field 4 Man Football Official's Mechanics Clinic" opportunity.
Hope to see you all on the "Grid Iron" Saturday August 7, 2010 at the South Burlington High School's Artificial Turf Football Field for 9:00 AM

Mike, Didn't realize the corn was that tall. If you notice at the end of the rows, closer to McNall Road, we have a test crop. Different varieties every ten row or so. There is an orange stake in front of various rows. It's hard to say which variety is doing better than the other. Thanks for the pic!

Blow & Cote receives a bonus if they are done ahead of schedule (word has it). I go with Thursday, at 4:11 pm. I would think they would want to have it open in anticipation of the 4th of July traffic.
