Current News & Events / Re: Alumni In Fairfax - Reunions?? - Photos??
« on: June 10, 2007, 09:40:36 AM »
The class of 1983 is planning their 25th reunion for next year.  So far we think it'll be at Brent Coon's house in Fairfax on July 28, 2008.  We're trying to plan early so people can make travel arrangements, and we have a deadline to finish any special projects we're working on for the reunion.  (Usually John Seymour wrangles a bunch of our class thespians together to make an AWESOME video!  They've made two so far, and the fans want more...so hopefully they'll cooperate!)

This summer we might try to get together at Greg Jutras's mother's house for fireworks in Bakersfield on 7/7/07, or go out to dinner some time between June 28 and July 11.  I'll try to remember to bring my video camera so I can capture shots of my elusive classmates, and maybe John can use some footage for the video for next year.  It's like a photo safari.  Some will be harder to stalk than others!

Email me at Jimsoozhq@aol.com for more information or if you just want to say hi....

Wow, what a powerful and important newspaper article!  I hope a lot of people read it!  What a touching tribute from a father to a daughter, and to all daughters (and sons!)  Hopefully something good will come out of this father's story, even though it must be hard for him to tell it.  I passed on the article to the Community Safety Network in Jackson, WY where I volunteer and sometimes work.  The story is very relevant to the work they do to help people escape from abuse, and recognize the signs...especially of power and control.  Is there an education program that addresses this in high school?  At BFA Fairfax, or St. Albans?  I wonder if the shelter in St. Albans outreaches to high schools...anyone know?

Good Luck Mike!  I had some pretty complicated knee surgery about nine years ago (ski accident), and my knee's pretty good now...hopefully yours will be less complicated!  I hope everything goes smoothly for you!  Suzy

I doubt John will read this, but I still think he should teach children how to make those!  Shelburne Farms has many pairs of children's snowshoes...it would be a cool goemetry project for some teacher to do with students.
John makes tiles with similar shapes/designs for kitchens/bathrooms.

Does anyone remember the old Brownell Ski area?  Old IBM'ers probably do...  I think it was in St. George or somewhere near Williston.  I remember going there when I was around four or five years old. That would have been 1969 or 1970.
