Does anyone out there know of someone who commutes from Burlington to Fairfax in the evenings (leaving Burlington around 8:00ish). Our foster daughter has a class scheduled in the evenings on Mondays and Wednesdays and we are looking for a way to get her back home on those nights. Any help would be appreciated.

It was a truly rewarding experience for our family to host such wonderful young ladies. If Fairfax is lucky enough to participate in the program next year, I would encourage all to be part of the experience and welcome students into your home. It was great fun comparing cultures and teaching them all about ours. I had no idea that after 12 days of being parents to these girls that it would be so difficult to say goodbye.

I haven't been posting on the school site as they are trying to transition to a new school website. It seems to be taking a long time to get it up and running, so in the meantime, I thought it would be helpful to have this one. February minutes have been submitted, but not approved yet. I am assuming they won't be posted until they are approved.

I have been griping about this for years, and each year, when the snow falls, the kids are forced to walk in the street. If the town can't keep them clean (because they don't have proper equipment, I've heard), then they should institute an ordinance requiring the home owners to keep the sidewalks clear in front of their properties. It really boggles my mind that we invest in sidewalks and walkways and yet don't think it's necessary to keep them accessible for 4 or 5 months of the year, especially when we have school children using them as a way to school each day. Is this showing that we care about our community? Come on people!

I will bring ours in tomorrow, Mike. But I'm also an old pro at getting the old Elmo at the school focused. It requires brute force. That is most likely the only problem with the focusing.
