I really miss those beautiful  lazy summer mornings there is something about staring at cows that just works.  its just so simple and peacefull. i can't wait to bring my sons back this July and just drive around, stop where you want and take a walk. enjoy the green. i am pretty lucky Portland is not a huge city by any means, and i am about an hour from the ocean ( the Pacific very cold), and an hour from Mt Hood elevation 11,235' above sea level( by the way it snowed 12" 2 days ago been a real poor summer out here so far) so i can get to the green pretty quickly, but its just not the same. Jackson wants to see all the spots where I hung out. really looking forward to coming home.

I remember when in high school  (class of 84) stopping for $5.00 and riding around with my buddies for a long time, i lived in Georgia down by the Georgia beach,  and don't know if i would be able to afford to do the commute now, i probably spent $10.00 -$12.00 a week in the commute. this allowed me to be involved in numerous after school activaties that i otherwise may not have been able to participate. hope its not affecting too many kids now as that is such a huge part of the high school experience.

Sorry live out in Portland OR, we are starting to get out of the rain(which generally goes from about Nov 1 through about the middle of April without ever seeing the sun). enjoy it when it shows up

have been following this thread with some interest, as I took a taxi to the airport for a work trip, and then landed in an area where said  airport is about a 35 minute drive, I also will leave out any explitaves, but am glad to hear nobody is having to use this mode of transport on a daily basis. god bless the old days when we just hopped on our bikes and went for miles a day

i went to school with Jeff and got to know his family pretty well. they are great people, really made me feel like part of the community when I first went to Fairfax to school, does not suprise me at all that they would go out of their way to help.

Wow I have not been down by the school for a number of years, took a look on google earth, and saw how far the housing goes down past the Orcutts I remember running through those woods for Cross Country practice, and meets. seems like a long time ago (although I guess it was 23 rears and counting.
