General Discussion / A Few Photos Of Alaska - Recent - I Think not
« on: January 20, 2004, 09:23:00 AM »

The above photo has to be an Anchorage Chamber Of Commerce Photo - I just never visualized Alaska that way

I strongly suspect those flowers are like our spring flowers, only the photo looks like it was taken in the fall of the year.

Now this is more like it, but I still don't see any pictures of Eskimos and dog sleds.

The above are photos taken by Mike Raburn, grandson of Bob and Bernice Luman who used to spend his summers here in Fairfax.

I actually failed to take any photos during our recent snow storms here in Fairfax, so if any of you did, would be glad to put them up.

I agree with Rev. Elizabeth - A lot of effort and a unique way of expressing winter here in Fairfax - They brought a lot of smiles

Hi All,

Each year we receive a card from Cheryl Boissoneault, Realtor, just in case we are thinking of buying or selling - By the way, we are not.

She had this information on the card regarding the average sale price of a house in Fairfax:

2001 - $164,067 - 2002 $185,353 - 2003 - $200,707

For those of us who purchased our homes in the 60s, it is quite a change. According to the card, this information was taken from MLS statistics.

Current News & Events / Kyle's Surgery
« on: January 17, 2004, 06:47:29 AM »
Hi All,

I received the following note from Kyle's mother:

Many thanks to you all for your prayers and support during Kyle's operation!  He came out of surgery around 6 pm tonight, and out of recovery and to his own room at Fletcher Allen Hospital down in Burlington around 7:30.  He was in quite a large amount of pain, but was a huge trooper...we were very proud of him!  I left the hospital tonight around 9 pm, and when I left he was eating a popsicle and watching a Power Rangers Movie.  He is being heavily medicated, but they hope to have him up in a chair tomorrow!

Again, thanks for all of your prayers...May God Bless all of you as much as we have been blessed today!!!

Love,

Mary Beth

Current News & Events / Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr - It's been cold here in Fairfax
« on: January 16, 2004, 08:04:41 AM »
Hi All,

Well, the day before yesterday when I got up it was -25 degrees and yesterday morning it was -35 degrees, but it did warm up to -8 degrees.  This morning we are getting some light snow and it's a balmy -7 degrees.

For those of you who received my email regarding the young man "Kyle" from Fairfax, he will be going into surgery this afternoon at 1:30 p.m.  She told me she would let me know how things are going.

Have a great day,

Henry
