Vermont Sunsets are the most beautiful. It does help to have some clouds around though even if it means that we just got wet.

This story will never make the newspaper, but it is nice to know there are people like these two gentlemen that care enough to stop and do a favor.
It shows you that humanity is not totally lost like some would have you believe.

Henry, Did you every try some of Sam's cheddar bread. It is the best in the area. You have to get there early as it sells out quickly.

Ed seems like a very capable willing repairman. Fairfax is fortunate to have a guy like him in the area

I would think the possible rain by the weekend might cool things down a little. We sure have appreciated the summer weather though. My father used to plant his potatoes in Lamoille county on Memorial day and harvest them on Labor day. He used to plant 100 pounds of seed potatoes and harvest almost 1000 pounds. Always green mountains.  One year he decided to plant some potatoes in straw. He got a good yield, but they had no taste at all.  He was convinced that the potatoes took on some of the taste of the soil that they were planted in. Makes sence to me

Should be good for gardens. I think the only ash that is not proper for gardens is coal ash.

I seem to remember that they need acid. You could probably get the proper food at the new Co-op store in St.A. They are open 7 days a week and would have an expert to recommend the correct stuff. Nice store.

We stopped there once and it started to rain. We helped the guy cover up his wares. When we were finished, he turned around and went into the house. We didn't help him for his thanks, but even a grunt would have been nice.
