I sincerely hope our fans are planning on heading to Barre this saturday for the 3:45 game to support our Lady Bullets.  It's clear they thrive off the intensity and energy their fans pour out to them and I believe they deserve every possible ounce of supportive energy they can get.  Some of these girls I've known since they were wee little tikes and all of them are pretty good and deserving kids.  If there's anyway you can make it down, tell a friend or relative to head down..... I'm sure the Girls would appreciate it... and you might just have a great time joining your community in a good supportive cause.  GO LADY BULLETS!

What a game.  The Lady Bullets held their own against a Fair haven squad that's played some good division 1 teams this season.  Fair Haven's defense affected a few of BFA's usual leaders holdign them and their usual contributions in check, which prevented the game from swinging to BFA's favor on several occasions.

In the final minutes, Fair Haven went up by 6 when BFA called a time out.  The team and their fans were excited, perhaps celebrating a bit too early, as b/w 1:19 and :43 seconds BFA played stiffling Deny Defense and made some tough athletic shots to tie the game.  BFA made a few more steals to both go up by 2, frustrate Fair Haven, and Get the final Reboudn to seal the win.  The chamber went wild!  After the players congrats to each other, the fans stormed the floor!  Grwt Job Ladies.  Now buckle down, focus, get in the groove, and take out U32 tomorrow night!

GO BULLETS!

I Implore our community to come out to support our girls tonight - even if it's standing room only.  First second round appearance in 10 years.  The more positive energy and noise in the chamber - the better for our defense and girls!  Go Lady Bullets!

Current News & Events / BFA Fairfax Girls Defeat Lake Region 40-29
« on: February 22, 2013, 11:39:10 AM »
I can't remember the last time BFA defeated Lake Region in Girls basketball - but i know it's been a long time coming.  There's been some really painful blow outs and equally difficult valiant efforts over the past 5-6 years.  I'm incredibly happy for these young women to have such an achievement to remember and be remembered for, for years to come.  With that defeat there's no way Lake Region can gain a higher seed then BFA in the rankings.
AWESOME JOB girls.

GO BULLETS!

as with any lawsuit - one has to evidence supporting/suggesting 2 things : 1) bad intent and/or 2) bad act.

AGAIN, I'll say that if the law is left at "Bullying is wrong and here's what will happen if it's proven: x,y,z" then i agree - a law so vague would be heart ache for employers and headache for the judiciary.

BUT, if the law is well thought out, outlines what is considered bullying in the workplace..... ( as schools do) and levys the payment for ALL court costs upon the loser ( thus if an employee attempts to smear an employer's reputation, and loses they get to pick up the tab for it) then i don't see it beign a bad motion to have.

I see behavior bu supervisors or managers in some of my mulitple workplaces that WOULD be considered inappropriate and/or bullying and it makes me very uncomfortable when i'm around it.
If people can't be civil - then we penalize them for it - why not - we do it for everythign else.

So apparently the mix up came from Essex recording they defeated BFA Fairfax instead of BFA - St. Albans.  Ms. Witalec was already aware of the issue and said that even if no one picked up on the issue - The pairing committe would've found it as they go over all materials diligently.

I'm pretty sure they're 15-2 as well - but I'm not in the loop anymore with postponements and make-up games.. so i figured I'd make sure.  i'll send her an email. Thanks for your feedback y'all.

I see the girls have 3 more games in the season...... yet the VPA website says they have a 15-3 record - the listings of games they've played only adds up to 17.  I'm wondering if there wasn't a game that was postponed that they made up and lost or if the VPA site is incorrect.  I know that the AD's from the schools are the ones who update the site so not sure if it's an accidental typo or if the loss wasn't recored.  anyone know the Ms. Witalec well enoguh to ask?  or at least know the low down?

on a side note. Why is OK for the union to bully?

How does a bullying bill affect employers if they aren't bullying Tom?  As with any entity - if they're using 'indentified' means of intimidation, cohersion, or influence then they'd be on the hook for such activities... key word is 'identified' I myself know not every industy has defined and identified means of bullying, and even less employers have this outlined.

Still I'd hope legislators are smart enough to explore the possibilities of abuse on both sides if they're serious about this.

Political Issues/Comments / Re: are you a maker or a taker??

good point wood stoves - but see that's how some folks push forward and stir support for their idealogoies and beliefs.  they phrase things purposely to speak to their supporters.  Liberals, conservatives, republicans, democrats ( and any other political movement in between who was latwe to figure that out)... they all do this.  I've found in my experience when conversign with others who both share same beleifs and have contrary, that admiting the imperfections of our beliefs, idealogies, preferences, political affiliations, etc usually avoids the defensive, pulpit-esque, attacking debates that otherwise righteous approaches spiral into.  No system humans have created is perfect on all levels as humans are imperfect.

Crafty maneuver there to hold an executive session so as to AGAIN - be able to hide the actual interworkings of thought, any possible bias and questionable logic and/or rationalizations.  Unfortunately - the logic and dominating rationale as to why this can happen, is that at some point, we as a community elected those who will perpetuate the culture.
