Let us not forget why this accident occurred to begin with ... someone was breaking the law.  When this person recooperats they should be held accountable and have to pay for damages.  In addition they usually have higher car insurance, hospital bills (even if they have insurance ... co payments, coinsurance and deductibles) and speeding tickets to remind them of their actions.

I would like the courts make it mandatory 20-40 hours of volunteer time in their community working with the same folks who were there to help them during this unnecessary emergency.   Perhaps this would give these young adults a valuable lession -  hands on.

I have noticed a light green ford explorer AND a white van traveling together about 6-times last week up and down my road.  I work from home and have a view of the road from two different angles.  This was very odd and caught my attention.  I did think about calling the police but I did not.  It is important for folks who are home to be visible in there neighborhoods either by observing or out side walking their dog.  It demonstrates that there is a RISK someone could, maybe see them doing something wrong.

Current News & Events / Re: Unleaded Gas Prices - $3.52 to $3.70

This is a good web site and I use it often, it saves me time and gas.  Also, if you are around the five-corners on a MON or TUESDAY the Mobil gas station gives you another .02 cents off the advertised price!

I usually fill up early in the morning (more of a true gallon) instead of the afternoon (slightly less of a true gallon) because of the heat.  Also, I try to fill up when I am at half-a-tank.  This is based on a theory that gas evaporates when there is more empty space.   I have noticed a difference in my mileage and my gas seems to last longer.  Of course it could just be I am driving less!

I remember (now I sound like Henry) when gas was available based on your last license plate number being even or odd in the 70's!  This was in the state I lived, you could buy gas only if it was the even day or the odd day.  Just to have the gas available....Yeah....for a price but it is still available and I am Thankful for that.

Wow....

I certainly hope those experiences have not be experienced here in Fairfax.  Personally, I believe that type of behavior you just described comes from too many people putting their heads down and walking away without saying a word.  Because of those heads going down the individual who is doing wrong now becomes more powerful and procedes to the next level which you also described.  Coming from a SemerFi background, I do believe there are many neighbors and individuals who would do the right thing and I know many who have.

Again you are right, the cost is high but so are the lasting effects.  Our history is filled with stories of those who paid a HIGH price for the choice they made and many times the family paid the price as well.  Hopefully, the good will out number the bad but there is always a cost to be paid.

Remember what you tell your kids......
You have to stand up for what you believe!  If someone is burning and if it concerns you as a responsible adult, you have the right to call and verify if there is a permit.   Should they provide harassment towards you, as a responsible adut there are avenues you can take to correct that  behavior.  Either way, you HAVE to stand up for what you believe or you will fail your next generation as well as the previous generation who fought for your rights that we all have today.  Would you tell your child NOT to tell the truth if they witnessed a crime because of harassment or fear of a possible outcome?

Do you now know who the owners are?  You might want to get their phone number for future visits.

When I had to have a taxi ride from the airport to Fairfax (back when gas was .95cents/gallon) I paid $55.00 plus a tip.  That was just 4-years ago.  You don't realize how nice it is to have family to depend on AND how much you save ($ )with family close by:(

Does anyone else wondering what I am wondering?

Is the USA under a different TYPE of attack?  Remember 9-11 was an attack on the USA Finance district (there were many financial companies in the buildings.)  All of this is making me rethink the convenience of Debt versus Cash.

I really enjoy the news clips from local FOX News, Burlington Press and Messenger News paper.  We can always count on Henry to keep Fairfax informed on local topics with his handy computer skills of copy, cut and paste!  Hey Thanks again.

Of course the Town of Fairfax support the volunteer fire department as we do all volunteers.

I believe the fire department has demonstrated their creative ability to save money with using an old farm truck for H20!
What a fabulous idea and a great way to recycle!

Just a thought and perhaps it has already been reviewed.  Would it be reasonable for the Town of Fletcher to begin setting aside a reasonable contributions toward the purchase of future fire department big ticket items?  It might help the fire department get caught-up faster with both Towns contributing.

I just don't want the fire department to end up like the $3,000/year side walk fund.

Loctavious I agree with you and now I am a bet jellous that your family deductable is only $600!  My family deductable is over a thousand dollars!  So you see that all this is much to do about what most of us tax payers have been putting up with for years!
AND
I realize that there are folks who wish they had health insurance and would be happy to pay their deductable because they don't have insurance at all!

This is all good, useful information.  Thank you for your input!

OOPs I stand corrected.

The Town of Fairfax does not have BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD health insurance, it is CIGNA but a good plan.  I did not realized that they changed to CIGNA two-years ago!

Sorry

sorry, I did not address Karen's other portion of her question about giving more notice>>>>>

The Town of Fairfax did give the employee's 12-months notice!  I do not know ANY business which gives 12-months notice.  Again it is a well thought out and a good decision during difficult times.

Hope this information answers any question you may have had.  If not, think about this....
When you have changes in your personal health insurance do you have 30-days to make a choice or 12-months?
