A huge Thank You to the School Board Directors for doing the right thing in cutting the full-day Kindergarten "this" year!
Also, I thought the areas in which this years savings were identified were reasonable - Thank You!

Current News & Events / illegal imimgrants
« on: December 10, 2008, 11:49:38 PM »
Tonight on the channel 3 News they did a story on Illegal Immigrants who are here in Vermont "Illegally" to help the Farmers.  The News Story went on to interview a lady who said it was a good thing.  The interview went on to say that VT hospitals will not see a patient who do not have a SS#.  The Illegal Immigrant workers are working around our food supply!  Am I the only one WORRIED about this health hazard? Just wondering why we have any Laws when they are NOT enforced.

General Discussion / Price Chopper Gas Discount Card
« on: September 06, 2008, 02:46:36 PM »
Just like other states who gives you a discount on gas from what you purchase in their store, Price Chopper will also be offering this same service here in Vermont before the end of the year.  Down State is on board with this new discount card which gives you several "cents" off a gallon of gas.  It work out to be .10 cents for every $50 you spend at Price Chopper you will save on each gallon of gas!  What is nice about this feature is we all have favorite stores for certain items but if you purchase the general items at Price Chopper you will really bring home a big savings using this card.  Well, I am excited about this new card.  I think I will have to now carry my Price Chopper card with me instead of borrowing someone's card while in line!

Current News & Events / Plan for this Winter
« on: July 10, 2008, 06:10:27 AM »
Are there any ideas or suggestions on what the average home owner can do this winter about heating the house? I feel tapped out of ideas about where to save a little this year to place into my heating fund.  I changed the light bulbs several years ago and found approximately $12-16/month on the light bill.  Gave up my StarBuck Lattee last year when gas went over $3/gallon.  All minor car repairs are done in a privately owned garage, always has been.  Don't smoke or drink so that is not something I can give up and save  to put towards my heat.  I drive a fuel saving car with good mileage.  Am I missing something?  What will you do to pay for your heat this year?  How many cords of wood does an average home owner need for a 1,000 sq ft house if using wood to help off set the use of oil?
