Always a great time!  If you have been to one of BFA's presentations in the past you know you are in for a treat.

Hats off to the students for all their hard work and dedication.  If you have some free time I highly recommend
coming out to a show ( or two!! ).   It's always a treat for the actors and actresses to be on stage and look out to a full audience.

Graffiti means any unauthorized inscription, word, figure, painting or other defacement that is written, marked, etched, scratched, sprayed, drawn, painted, or engraved on or otherwise affixed to any surface of public or private property by any graffiti implement, to the extent that the graffiti was not authorized in advance by the owner or occupant of the property, or, despite advance authorization, is otherwise deemed a public nuisance by the City Council.

Yes, I would consider it vandalism.

If you are truly interested in/concerned about the future of your town, it is your responsibility to keep yourself informed and take advantage of publicly available information.  In my opinion it is no hardship to have to seek that information rather than expecting it to be shouted from the rooftops or printed in bold headlines begging for your attention.

Could someone please direct me to the publicly available information.  Computer literate I am NOT and I can't seem to find this data.  If I go to the home section of this forum I see a link for the Fairfax Town Planning & Zoning WEB site. Clicking on this link http://www.nrpcvt.com/fairfax.html however gets me to a page that last seems to have been updated last in 2008.   There is another link on this page titled Fairfax Zoning Bylaw & Subdivision Regulation Revisions but that page also seems to have been last updated in 2008.  When I try to view the minutes of past meetings http://www.vtgrandpa.com/fxtown/past-pcminutes-index.html I only see minutes up to and including June, 8th of this year.  The minutes are not listed for the remainder of June or all of July.

I am only using links available directly or indirectly from this forum ( did I mention that I am not computer literate ? ) so if anyone has a link to an official town WEB site where more current information can be obtained I would be much obliged.

Does anyone know if there will be a fan bus on Thursday?

Edited at 2:28 PM
Just came across this:

If you are interested in purchasing tickets for the game they will be available in the guidance office on Tuesday (March 2nd) from 9:00-3:00 and during the school day on Wednesday and Thursday.

If there is enough interest in a fan bus we will send one.  It is currently scheduled to leave the High School at 6:30.  If you are interested you must sign up ahead of time when you purchase tickets.  The bus will operate with a suggestion of a 3 dollar per person donation.

Gary,
I was wondering if you knew how the Spending Per Equalized Pupil is computed.  It doesn't seem to be a simple division of the total budget by the number of students so do you know what formula is used to arrive at the BFA number of $10,655 ??

Thanks

Just to be clear, Markowitz is a gubernatorial candidate
who supports Shumlin's plan to shut down Vermont Yankee
and disregard the Nuclear Regulatory Commission
(and send another 600+ to the unemployment line).

and Sara Kittell is one of our Franklin County Senators,
Randy Brock being the other.

So, let's see how others voted:
Shumlin of Putney - Nay
Borck    of Swanton - Nay
Kittell    of Fairfield   - Nay

Hummm...  Both Republicans and Democrats voted -- NO  -- Hummm

Has anyone else noticed the discrepancies between the numbers listed the BFP and the numbers listed in the school budget flyer which was mailed out last week?

According to the BFP (which always seems to get the Farifax School budget incorrect year after year) the proposed Fairfax school budget will actually DECREASE this year by 0.01% yet the school taxes will be raised an additional 8.7%.   Well we know that the budget will actually INCREASE by .86% this year so is the 8.7% increase real or just another typo by the BFP?  Does anyone know?

Also, the proposed budget shows a total decrease in teacher salaries. With other school districts agreeing to a wage freeze (Georgia) or a possible wage cut (Burlington) is the reduction a result of the Fairfax teachers also agreeing to a wage freeze?

Yup... some people travel way too fast on Buck Hollow and other town roads.

I have also passed these individuals in the early morning hours.  They seem to jog mostly on the long straight a way and always have LED headlamps on.  With the LED headlamps on I can pick them up from over a half mile away -- again... on the straight a way.    They seem to move in a single file when they see a car approaching, ( although maybe not always? ) and wear bright and or reflective clothing.

Stepping to the side of the road as a car passes is a good idea as is slowing down when encountering joggers or bicyclist.  We all share town roads and we all need to respect one another.

Mr. Brown,
Thank you for a well worded and thoughtful append.

I will remember both the victims and their families in my prayers also.
