Wow--this photo brought back memories.  "Back in the Day", businesses had their information printed on these and gave them to customers.  Gram and Grandpa who were living in NJ at the time, would receive them and give them to us to play with whenever we visited.

For grins and giggles, I checked Vermont Country Store's website and they don't carry them.  Perhaps this would be a useful item to suggest for their product line!

Well done Lisa.  Thank you!

Terrific photos, Henry.  Many thanks for putting them up here so quickly.

The Reverend Elizabeth and the Fairfax Community Library Board,

Thank you very much for the wonderful celebration in honor of Mom.  It was lovely and the dedication of the children's area was heartwarming.

Marnie,

Mom was delighted with your phone call.  Thank you.

Thank you kindly to all community members and friends who expressed sentiments and helped celebrate.  Folks continue to make Fairfax a truly special place.

Most Gratefully,

Kelley Horr Mills

Hey Mom, terrific hat.  It becomes you, or perhaps it has become part of you during your tenure!

You made a difference in many lives in the community of Fairfax.  In fact, as many will agree, you helped make the library its own micro-community over the years.

Congratulations!

Love,

Kelley

P.S.

Thank you for the kind words everyone!

In Vermont, we have seven seasons:  Winter, Mud, Spring, Construction, Rainy, Summer, and Autumn.

Thanks Mike for posting your history tidbits.  Also, I look forward to reading Mr. Brown's responses.  Both leave me with a sentimental feeling of attending BFA Fairfax and how special small schools really are.

Correct me if I am wrong, but in the 105 years of our glorious alma mater's existence, haven't there only been two high school music/band instructors?  They would be... (Drum Roll)  Sterling Weed and Bruce McRae.  Pretty neat if you ask me!

Watch out for the sugar-free ones.  I just read that too many in one sitting may have a laxative effect...

These are terrific photos.  It is the most wonderful time of the year.

Congratulations!

As a teacher of Agriculture and advisor for the Middlebury FFA Chapter for 12 years at the Patricia A. Hannaford Career Center in Middlebury, Vermont and FFA alum at Center for Technology Essex, I know how hard these students worked to prepare for this Career Development Event.  Before they arrived in Indianapolis, Indiana and joined FFA members from across the United States and its territories, they were first place team in Vermont!

By the way, the FFA Official Dress Code is well recognized by the National Blue and Corn Gold corduroy jackets.  With more than 50,000 members in attendance at the National FFA Convention, that's a lot of blue corduroy!

This accomplishment will look terrific on your resumes, cover letters for job applications, and if you choose to pursue college, on your applications!  It certainly helped me, since it's what inspired my career.  As a college bound student, it was really difficult to find time in my schedule to get to the Center for Technology in Essex.  However, I did and graduated from BFA Fairfax, headed to UVM and graduated with a degree in Agricultural Education. Now I have what I consider the most rewarding job in the world--teaching students who are also passionate about their career interests.

Well done!

One last thing...  If you find a career that you really love, you'll never have to work again!

Best to all of you!
