Yeah, that was our outage, Henry. I didn't chime in before because we are not on CV. Amazing how quiet the house is w/o the juice! and yes, I did manage to shave without electricity, using a razor, no less.. I swiped a disposable from Brenda... ![Wink ;)](http://www.vtgrandpa.com/forum/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Joe

As I drove by this morning I saw some of the shelves have stuff on them (lots of stuff). Henry, have you heard of an ETA of the opening? I'm sure it's gotta be soon!

...get some and not others, that's the beauty of digital TV, unfortunately. Try moving the antenna around - or rotating it if it's an outdoor antenna).
BTW, can't decide if Flash Forward is a keeper or not, we are still watching it, still like it - I hope it doesn't turn silly.
(have you seen the trailers for the movie "The Fourth Kind?" ... yikes)

Credit card companies will call you if your card is compromised. It happened to us last year, we were awakened at 4 a.m. the day after Thanksgiving by a guy asking us if we had just made two purchases etc, etc. He said, if you did not make these purchases, please call your credit card provider as soon as possible.
The BIG difference... they will tell you to call the number on the back of your card.
We did call, and yes, our credit card # got stolen. How? That's a tale for another day.

I was up on Mansfield today .... about 10:30 this morning, wet snow spitting from the sky. (YIKES - here comes that winter thing again)

Mike:
Do you remember Don Kirschner's Rock Concert? Was a syndicated show that ran on Saturday nights back in the 70's. Huge lineup of bands... Don was the guy who signed half of them to their recording deals.

Oh, we did but the DVD of Children of Earth....what a GREAT show. New rule for us, if Mike recommends something on Sci-fi (umm Sy-Fy) or BBCa, we watch it!

I wonder if we'll ever see anything on the end of that tower? Was supposed to be for WiMax broadband.
FP promised the state 100% broadband penetration to 80% of their exchanges (including 849) in VT by the end of 2010. The project appears to be stalled !

HD Radio is the marketing name for one type (the most popular type) of digital radio invented by a company called ibiquity. It is a digital signal rides on top of (technically on the sides of) the analog radio signal and works on both AM and FM.
For either FM or AM HD radio, if you cannot receive the analog signal, you will not be able to get the digital signal. AM digital radio tends to not work very well at night unless you get a 100% solid signal.
So, if you cannot get WCBS 880 analog, you will not WCBS digital.
If you are looking for Yankee games, try WVMT am-620 in Burlington or WIRY am-1340 in Plattsburgh. I am not necessarily a 'Yankee fan (more of a Braves fan, really) but John Sterling may just be the best radio play-by-play person...ever.
Vermont Public Radio runs digital FM radio, and they have multiple digital channels that carry their regular 107.9 program, plus VPR classical and BCC world service. All you need is the HD radio.

Saw on of those yesterday morning on Woodard road, near the swampy area. Me and another car both stopped as it was standing partially in the road. I fumbled for the cell phone camera..but, alas... too late.
Now that was a BIG bird !

I'm recording it, the promos look good, huh? Still wish BBCA would bring back MI-5, though!

Looks like there was a temp power service being run across the road this morning. Can you say pneumatic nail guns.

I have no horse in this race, don't much care one way or the other, frankly:
We are gifted with curiosity and the ability to investigate issues ourselves. Rather than Goggling up position papers, I'd suggest getting in your car and driving to northern NY or southern VT to hear the turbines for yourself. It might be worth a few hours and 30 bucks worth of gas to find out for yourself if the noise is objectionable or not.

WCAX does have generators (the ones that failed) , they are also shared by WVNY, WFFF, and WPTZ.
