Thank You Mark and Judi.  I stopped this morning and picked a few and had our first apple crisp of the season for supper.  Thanks for your generosity.

Current News & Events / Rubbish pick-up Wednesday
« on: March 13, 2013, 07:23:23 AM »
The rubbish or recycle truck was in the Wilkins Rd area at 7:30 and they usually don't pick up in this area until 11:30-1:30.  So if you don't have yours out you better hustle.  We missed it as by 5 minutes.

Henry thanks for posting this.  We certainly won't find any results in the Burlington Free Press this morning!

Current News & Events / SCAM - BEWARE
« on: November 02, 2012, 06:05:37 PM »
Today a nice grandmother I know got the dreaded phone call that her grandson was in an accident and in jail.  She asked to speak with him and he supposedly came on the line, but said she probably wouldn't recognize him as he had broken his nose.  She had the presence of mind to tell them to call his father.   The father didn't answer so they called her back and in the end the call was terminated.  Of course they wanted money.  She got on the phone and called her grandson and he was just fine, but some furious to think they had called his grandmother.

Tom thanks for sharing this article.  It was a great find.  I found the article from your info and his obit was there also.  Some of the Story's are buried in Safford Cemetery.

I recognized Roy before I ever read the article.  He was a good neighbor.  Nice murals.

Lost & Found Animals / German Shepard looking dog (meduim siize) loose
« on: October 02, 2012, 07:01:50 AM »
A German Shepard looking dog was just in our yard with a collar and a long green rope trailing behind.  We called to it but it wouldn't come to us.  I think he knew he was free.  He was last seen on Sweet-Slattery Rd. headed for Wilkins Rd. at 7:30.  He had real perky ears standing straight up.  A nice looking dog.

I certainly enjoyed all the wonderful pictures and narrative.  It was very educational and sounds like a wonderful trip.  Thanks for taking the time to enlighten us all.

We had a grilled ham steak for supper tonight and it was very good.  There sure is a difference in taste than what you buy at the super market.

If I remember correctly where I saw the counter/study being taken was on the straight-a-way between the cemetery and the town garage and not on any of the curves in the road.

It is sad that the offenders of the speed limit spoil it for the people who try to obey it.  The ones who try to obey the speed limit are the ones who are being punished as the ones who are going over the speed limit will probably continue to do so.  I think it is sad that a good road can't be driven on the way it was intended.  Imagine you can go 35mph on all the dirt roads and now we have to drive 40mph on the Fletcher Road with good black top.  Just doesn't make sense to me.

Current News & Events / Blueberry picking on Richards Rd in Fairfax
« on: July 11, 2012, 01:51:16 PM »
We just picked a flat of blueberries right here in Fairfax.  Just follow the signs off McNall Rd.  Will put most of them in the freezer to enjoy this winter.

We did not get power back until a little after 11:30pm.  Hopefully no one was hurt in the accident.  I knew it was a major outage as our light did not even blink.
