Is this position still open?  Saw the ad posted outside the library.

Kipp just got as far as 104A and turned around to come back home.  He reports several cars off the road.      Co workers in Burlington and Colchester report no road issues.  Must be our slightly higher elevation.

Looks like there are tire marks on the road on the other side of the mailboxes too?   The ditch seems torn apart on both sides???
Any injuries?

Current News & Events / Re: Well, My Modem On My DSL Went Kaput!!!
« on: September 25, 2011, 04:54:26 PM »
They do burn out or at least that was what I was told by the tech who came 2 years ago.   Overall, I find Fairpoint DSL to be very slow on weekend.  Any one else have the same issue.

Fairpoint also states we are just at the line of the line and can not upgrade to a high speed.   Bummer.   I looked  into switching providers but every one else seemed to expense.   Any recommendations, plse?

General Discussion / Free Easy Set Pool
« on: June 18, 2011, 07:46:41 PM »
A 15' by 48" above ground pool.   Intex' Easy Set pool.   Comes with large filter, ladder, some chemicals.      Pool has some discoloration on the top blue inflatable ring.   Otherwise works great.  Just need a level spot and add water.

On the Fletcher Road in Fairfax.   Ph 849-2423

General Discussion / Fairpoint DSL speed struggles
« on: April 03, 2011, 07:44:04 PM »
Anyone else having a hard time with the speed of Fairpoint's DSL service.  It seems on the weekends, especially in the afternoons, the service slows down to a snails pace.  Fairpoint tech support says not much they can do.   We are at the end of the line and not capable of signing up for a higher speed.   Kind of crazy excuse I think.  We are 2 miles from the village, on the Fletcher Road.

What are the alternatives?  Globalnet, Comcast?

Anyone have SoVerNet?   How has the experience been?

Thanks!!!

Food for thought:

"More than three-quarters of Vermont’s elementary schools offer full-day kindergarten, up sharply in the past several years, said Manuela Fonseca, the early education coordinator for the Vermont Department of Education."

Take a look at the Grade Expectations set by the Vermont Dept of Education.  I can see why the administrators feel they need a full day to teach what is required by the State.
