Jackie Bruning sent me the following note:

Reported on the front page of MSNBC
Vermont State Government computers have been breached.   Hackers have gained access to some 70,000 resident information, including social security numbers.

It appears the breach occurred with those holding bank accounts with New England Federal Credit Union.

Well, I am sure people always wonder "Who"?  Well, I was one that had their info breached.  It came as a letter with a return address of "Dept. of Child Support".  Well let me tell you that gets you worried!! Anyway opening the letter, it stated my info from as far back as 2002-2004 was involved.  Going to start making the necessary calls and contacts to prevent any problems....

I told my wife that a husband is like a fine wine; he gets better with age. The next day, she locked me in the cellar.

Maryann and I each got a letter on this.  Strange part is as Brian said, the information has been compromised twice.  Seems that they only wanted the information from certain customers, but the New England Federal Credit Union sent them their whole file.  The state in turn took what they needed and kept the file rather than discarding it.  My wife is now on the phone with the New England Credit Union and is extremely upset that our information was sent when it wasn't even requested.
