MARIE CORINNE CATELLA

ESSEX CENTER - Marie Corinne Catella, 89, of Stannard Drive passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, August 3, 2009, at her home to be with Jesus surrounded by her loving family. Corinne was born on Jan. 26, 1920, in Kingscroft, P.Q. Canada, the daughter of the late Evariste and Cordelia Langlois Pouliot. On Sept. 6, 1947, she was married to Bernard P. Catella in Holy Family Catholic Church in Essex Junction. Together they celebrated over 60 years of marriage until his passing on March 13, 2008. A resident of Jericho for many years, she was a homemaker who cared deeply for her children. For over 19 years she was the bookkeeper for her husband's business, Bernie's Fuels of Jericho. She enjoyed cross stitching and was a master seamstress. She loved the outdoors, caring for her gardens and watching the birds. Together she and Bernie enjoyed the many yearly trips that they took to Florida. She will be greatly missed. Corinne is survived by her children, Michael Catella and his wife Sally of Essex Center, JoAnne Maynard and her husband Paul of North Hero and Marie Jewell and her husband Dana of Colchester; her grandchildren, Nathan Catella and his wife Mary Jo, Scott Catella and his wife Jen, Joshua Catella and his wife Stefanie, Hannah and Abby Jo Maynard, Chelsea Jarvis Jewell and her husband Dan and Travis Jewell; her great-grandchildren, Jacob, Madison, Gillian, Christopher, Shane and Elizabeth; and her greatgreat-grand daughter, Skye.; her sister Sister Emerentiana O'Carm; her sisters-in-law, Margaret LaVigne and her husband, Robert of Tuscon, Ariz., Louella Desrochers of St. Albans and Gabrielle Pouliot of Kearney, Neb.; as well as several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her loyal and devoted caregiver, Jan Hauschild, to whom the family gives special thanks. Besides her husband Bernard, she was predeceased by her grandson, Adam Maynard in 1989, as well as five sisters and sixbrothers. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 7, 2009, at 1 p.m. in St. Pius X Catholic Church in Essex Center with Fr. Richard Tinney, celebrant. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Essex. There will be no visiting hours.
