PAUL A. COLLINS

COLCHESTER – Paul A. Collins, 81, entered eternal life and the loving arms of his wife, Gloria, on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, surrounded by his family, in the VNA Respite House in Colchester. He was born in Enosburg Falls on November 4, 1935 to Owen and Imogene (Roddy) Collins. He graduated from BFA Fairfax in 1955 and enlisted in the Vermont Army National Guard. Paul married Gloria Byrne on July 20, 1961.  He was a self-employed building contractor, building many homes, including the one he raised his family in. Paul enjoyed hunting, playing cribbage, camping and spending time with his family.  He is survived by his children, Cindy (Steve) Delorme, Pam Ravey, Patty (Henry) Lozell and Todd (Lori) Collins; his grandchildren Cory, Heather, Samantha, Matt, Gloria, Ashley, Cassie and Carson; his great grandchildren Easton, Kai, Alana and Donovan. He is survived by his siblings John (Betty) Collins, Owen (Alice) Collins, Thomas (Daisy) Collins, Norbert (Audrey) Collins, Letitia “Tish” (Clement) Cardinal, Mary (Michael) Wright; sister-in-law, Jackie Comstock, and many nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his wife, Gloria, in 1981; parents Owen and Imogene Collins; brothers and sisters-in-law Alton (Norma) Collins, Mark (Jackie) Collins, and brother-in-law Gordon Comstock. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. in the Minor Funeral and Cremation Center in Milton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Colchester, with Father Julien officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial contributions can be made to VNA Respite House, 3113 Roosevelt Highway, Colchester, Vermont 05446.
