CAROL ANN FONTANILLES

FAIRFAX — Carol Ann Fontanilles, 66, of Fairfax, died Feb. 7, 2014, following a stroke.

She was born June 14, 1947, in Yonkers, N.Y., the daughter of Cy and Angie Caserta. Following college, she married Henry “Hank“ Fontanilles. They made their home in Fishkill, N.Y., then in Pleasant Valley, N.Y., where they raised two sons. They moved to Vermont in 2004. Carol Ann was a devoted Yankee fan, and a supreme baker, engaging in the “Christmas Cookie Wars“ with her sister and always winning with the most varieties made, often over 20.

She is survived by her husband, Hank; two sons, John of Ripton, and Mark of Fairfax; sister, Louise Caserta Thompson and husband, Donald, of Stowe.

Arrangements were made by the Cremation Society of Chittenden County, a division of the Ready Family, 261 Shelburne Rd., Burlington. A service will be held in the spring in New York.
