Nice pictures, Jo!  Especially liked the snowman one; haven't seen too many of them around this year.....remember a year or two ago when snowmen kept appearing in different places all over town? Brought smiles as you'd pass them by; never knew where/when the next one would pop up!  Too bad that doesn't happen again....sure seems our little town could deserves some cheer!!!

Henry, I've got to add, these boxes are a little bit of a pain!  Many times when it's windy or the weather isn't so nice, we can't receive the signal (so the screen tells us), so we have to fiddle around with the antenna.  Sometimes the pictures are very distorted (looks like a jigsaw puzzle) and even the sound stutters here, making the person talking really stutter!  We are trying to laugh at it, but have to say, when you're in the middle of a good program, it isn't always funny! We have these boxes on more than 1 TV as we don't have cable & it's the same on each.  The latest we've heard on this reception issue is you also may have to install an antenna on your roof.....bet that'll work well with the way the wind has been gusting!  Anyone else have trouble?  Guess we'll just put up with it as it's cheaper than cable!

All this talk still does not help the fact that a sweet, kind, considerate, always helpful elderly lady was totally violated.  Some lowest of the lowest  have done the most unthinkable crime they could have!  My only hope & Prayer is that "what goes around, comes around " and they pay dearly in the end!

Too bad people don't feel they can say who they are for fear of being blacklisted by those that feel differently!  I so agree: we do offer an adequate..actually very good K program here & for the ones at risk, it ought to be the parents responsibility to see their child's needs are met!  So many today do not take responsibility of their own_ they leave it up to the teachers, whom can only do so much!!!  We are a community that meets many needs of children;  I see so much more that is offered now than what was long ago for my first child;  but fact remains,  things are financially stressed for many & we should not further burden each taxpayer!  COME ON PARENTS, STEP UP TO THE PLATE & TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR EACH OUR OWN CHILD!!!!!  & for gosh sakes, STOP pushing it on all others to do it!  Take the time with own own child to do things as a family rather than all the extras that cost when what kids REALLY need is time at home as a family, time to grow up AFTER being a kid, parents that are actively involved in their lives & not just DROPPED off at events!!!!!  So much has changed since you were our principal Mr. Brown...kids are so different now & I feel some of this reflects on us as parents!  (hey, Mr. Brown, we are looking for a new principal, if you'd like to un-retire!!! I always admired your leadership when my oldest son was in school!)

too bad you & everyone didn't take a moment to discuss this letter;  I know many that could have written it, myself inc.,  as a parent of 3 former/present students whom agrees with the contents of this letter!  It's time to stop & think about the cost of this & where else the $$ could be better put to use!  When Kindergarten is NOT mandated in our state & we OFFER 1/2 day program already (with fantastic teachers!), why are we spending this amt!!!  I missed the forum as I had other commitments, but have always felt we do NOT need a full-time K program!!!

We had Lifeline for my dad in Burlington for a little over a year & were very satisified!   We found it to be worth every penny!  Dad needed it a few times & they even contacted me after he used it to let us know his status.  Peace of mind is worth lots!

We did contribute also, but did not attend because of other commitments;  just wanted to say we were at a camp that had fireworks, whose folks paid quite a bit less, were set off by a Guardsman & Ins. agent, whom did a fantastic job & they were excellent.  My gripe is putting it in my taxes so I HAVE to contribute!  I don't feel that is fair to all those that do not attend!  With the rising costs of everything, I feel maybe to some it may not be expensive, but there are those of us that need to use our monies to support our families!  All these "little costs" really add up in the final picture of our tax bills!

sure wish one of them would - doesn't either side realize the $$$$$ being spent could be put to better uses????

Think they may have  some  chain saws or a new ATV winch in their possession?  Maybe an extra that they picked up from the Bellows' farm?  Reward is being offered!!!

A brand new winch was also stolen at Dale's;  he noticed it today when he went to look for it.  Now we wonder what else will be noticed missing as he goes to use it?   If anyone has info to help find his STOLEN property, please notify Dale or the sheriff & he is offering a REWARD!   What ever happened to working to earn what you want/need rather than STEALING!!!  I hope whomever has STOLEN these items gets a payback someday;  we were always told growing up"what goes around comes around",  their day will come!!!

Just a question:  is it true that one town office employee's spouse will soon be receiving Medicare/Medicaid (age related) benefits?  If so, we're talking only 3 employees with spousal benefits.  Was it ever considered to give a year's notice to them and/or offer them the option of paying a portion rather than eliminating them entirely?
