I'd love to take credit for posting them, but really, I think Henry must have done it.  I just remembered they were here on this wonderful website....
Hope you're all having a great day!

I agree with Gerry...those Freeps online comments are always awful, extremely negative, and even sometimes creepy!  Who writes some of that stuff?

Fairfax was such a great place to grow up, and I feel the healthy community spirit alive and well all the way from Wyoming from Henry's forum, and from visits "back home."  I still see a community (that doesn't always agree with each other) get together to support students, athletes, neighbors, family, and friends.   if there's a chance for good food, good music, a good laugh, or the opportunity to support a friend in need, people show up.  I love all the photos of the Egg Run!  So many people in the community focused on a healthy sport that people can do throughout their lives!  Duck Races, and Story Walks!  The bike path is awesome, and Fairfax still has some beautiful countryside, and great small businesses...  I love the updates from the library, and Jo Anne' and Mike's photos from the area!  I love all the historical photos, stories about the "good ol' days," and silly banter that goes on here.

Too bad the person who commented didn't get to experience that.  Like someone else mentioned, you only get out what you put in...

Anyway, thanks to Henry for being here for so many years!  How many years have you been doing this?  I sure appreciate it, and I know everyone else does.  I also appreciate everyone who contributes to the forum.  It's really a unique place, and a community treasure.

Hope you're all having a great summer!
Love,
Suzy

I was easy to keep up with...I just went out the front door, and then out the back door!

Here's two massive bulls I watched in Grand Teton National Park the other day....they are HUGE...They are so big, someone said, "Oh look!  One of them is pregnant!"  hooo boy!

These are probably more the size the hunters are hoping for....

I just read this, and walked into my bedroom, and saw velvety antlers outside the window!  I ran for the camera...and here's the moose I shot...
(so to speak)

Current News & Events / Re: NEW DVD Collection in at the library!
« on: June 23, 2011, 08:51:37 AM »
That's great!

Will you be accepting DVD donations to add to the collection?  (our library has added LOTS this way)  This is awesome for parents/families trying to save money.  Our DVD collection moves quickly, and brings more people into the library.  We also have Console Games in our collections, but (sadly) we have found we need to keep the cases out, and the games behind the desk until checkout due to theft and the cost of replacement.

I used to love summers at the Fairfax Library.  I babysat, and would walk the kids to the library, and walk them home in time for lunch, and a nap.  It took all morning to get there and back, and it was always nice and cool and quiet in the library.

Happy Summer!

Saw a Lamoille Valley bus drive by work yesterday, and I waved like a crazy, and blew kisses!  I hope you Vermonsters are finally enjoying SUMMER!  (I think it's stopped snowing here in Wyoming)

How's the corn looking?

Now all we need is some chocolate, graham crackers, and it appears milk will be provided...

Thanks Steve!  I love your photos!  I love seeing the leaves on the trees!  (We have green grass here in Wyoming, but no leaves yet, and snow this morning)   Spring ought to be here by July, I'm hoping!  :D

Current News & Events / Re: Fire at the Brewski in Jeffersonville?
« on: April 28, 2011, 08:15:55 AM »
Here's what the Brewski just posted on their FB page...

"Thanks for all your kinds words here on facebook and in person. Turns out that the fire did considerable damage but no one is hurt and we will get the place up and running again. Once the construction gets underway, we'll have a better idea of when the taps will run again with frosty cold beers. This is just one more chapter in The Brewski's long and colorful life!"

So, it sounds like there was more damage than they initially thought...

I hope you're all dry, and thanks for sharing all the amazing photos of the flood, everyone!

Does anyone ever remember eating pizza in Cambridge at The Cellar?  (a couple decades ago)  They had good pizza, but I'll bet that place was full of water recently, or maybe even still.....

Funny story:  I had to lead the National Guard once...
I was skiing from Smuggler's Notch ski area, back to Stowe, where I used to live and work.  I was on Sterling Pond, and there were soldiers up there, and they were lost...  I told them to follow me, and I led them across the pond, and back to Stowe.  I felt like I was leading an Army!  Oh yeah, I was!

Welcome to Kurt, and thanks for your service...and services!  :D
