Well, last night must have been skunk night, because this morning there were two dead skunks apparently hit by a car, just up the road from me in front of my sister Theresa's house.  You could smell them down to my place and with two of them there in the middle of the road, I am sure they would have been hit over and over again causing more stink and mess on vehicles going by.

I called Cathy Jones down at the town clerk's office and asked her if she thought Don Pigeon or one of his crew would pick them up as I didn't want my sister out there with a shovel trying to bury them and knew that I wasn't up to doing that either.  Cathy said she would contact him and sure enough about ten minutes later saw a pickup truck go up by that looked like Don Pigeon's and the job was taken care of.

I am very, very grateful to Don & Crew for all they do.  We are very, very fortunate to have them here in town.  There is never a "That's not my job" associated with a request.

Cathy, thanks for contacting the town road crew and Town Road Crew, thank you so much for taking care of this matter for me, my daughter and also my sister.  You are a great group and we do appreciate all you do for us.

I just had a great idea!! Why don't we send Don and his crew first to Montpelier and then to DC!! Able to do the tough jobs, never balk at taking care of someone else, get things done quickly. I could of sworn that is what elected officials are supposed to do!!

Good job Don!

Yeah, but Don and Crew didn't have to deal with people advocating for the rights of the skunks to stay where they were.

Our political process isn't bad at taking action - the process as a whole is bad at making decisions and writting rules upon which actions are taken.
