Hope asphalt costs stay about the same.
They cannot fluctuate THAT much, can they?
I have never bid or worked a large asphalt job.

I guess this starts next spring?

Next spring? Oh not at all! They've finished the first coat and are doing the ditch work now.  I'm not sure if the 2nd layer of asphalt will go on now or wait until spring.

Prices always seem high to me because I'm getting old.  Always thought asphalt prices varied drastically over time as the petroleum prices fluctuate so dramatically. Am impressed with the work & workers on the project. Great to see all ditch work and stone going into them.  Always appreciate friendly touches. I pass the same workers at least twice a day. Smile & mouth good morning & they give me a little bow & wave me out onto the road. Nice way to start the day.

I don't think they can put the 2nd phase down unless the surface temp is 60 degrees F.
