Hi Henry I'm positive I live on a town road!

Unfortunately 7F24 I disagree with your statement about our road crew keeping our roads up!  Our road has not seen a plow in 20 hours and we have snow drifts big enough that we can not meet a car coming the opposite way!!  Furthermore there were school buses out this morning and I know that there were other roads with similar conditions. I am very disappointed with our road crew this winter.

Thanks Dave I actually got an invite on facebook and I will try to make the meeting!

Is this for girls entering Kindergarten in the fall or girls that are in K now?

Thanks Cableguy for the info and fessing up!  It has not all been bad.  It is just frustrating to deal with someone who obviously does not like their job and/or is to busy to talk with you!  HOwever I did call once and got a very nice lady who was extremely helpful and pleasent!

I live off Chaffee Rd too and we have Comcast, however I can NOT stand it!  The signal cuts out all the time and the people that I call to talk with are less than pleasent.  We had someone come to our door over a year and a half ago offering a great deal so we took it.   I am surpirsed that they did not stop at your house too Chris!  We are looking into other options currently.  I do not reccomend Comcast!

Thank you Hcargil for letting me use your account, in my hurry to  fix this mess I have deleted mine.

I would like to apologize for my premature posting about Branagan /Kirkpatrick ticket. Due to my naivety, I overstepped my boundaries, by not keeping in constant communication with Representative Branagan. I am so sorry for any inconvience and stress I may have caused. My zealous behavior overtook my better judgment. Chances are, due to this error, I will refrain from running.

« on: January 25, 2009, 04:47:37 PM »
This is my first post and I have been reading these posts and listening to the controversy surrounding this topic since it started.  Before anyone questions, yes I do have a son that will be attending Kindergarten next year.  I am not writing this as a parent right now.  I am writing this as a professional.  I am an OT that works in the school setting all over Franklin and Grand Isle County.  Over the last 3 years I have gotten less referrals for fine motor development, social skills, self regulation, and other early intervention issues.  Why you ask, I truly believe that it is in part due to full day kindergarten.  With full day kindergarten they will get to explore and actually enjoy their kindergarten day vs having to rush through what is now required by the FEDERAL government.  I also work with many kindergarten teachers and they have to cover a lot of material in a short amount of time with partial day however now with full day the kids are able to play and learn!  Is that not what Kindergarten is suppose to be all about??  Yes I have not worked with kids for 30 years however I do work with A LOT of kids every day.  I know that everyone has their own opinion on this matter however if you feel that strongly about something write your name! Stand up for what you truly believe in.  This is a tough time for everyone however if you think that you are the only one with financial difficulty look again!  I feel that academics and our childrens right to a GREAT education should never take a back seat.  OUR KIDS ARE OUR FUTURE!

Thanks Hannah Cargill
