The Fairfax Historical Society presents the 26th Annual Pie and Ice Cream Social, Sunday June 23rd, 7pm, on the front lawn of the Baptist Building on Main Street in Fairfax. Band Concert by the Fairfax-Fletcher-Westford Band. There will also be a “jelly-jar-style” auction. We will let you know what items we are auctioning when the time gets closer. Come celebrate the start of summer with friends and family and enjoy homemade pie and with some ice cream, great music and great conversation. For more information, please call 849-6638.

The event will start at 6pm. There may be a couple of speeches, but the majority of the evening will be the band playing and people having cake and ice cream. We will have more information as time gets closer.

TONIGHT!!!!!!! FOR SOME REASON I PUT THE WRONG DATE ON THIS EARLIER. SORRY!!!
The Fairfax Historical Society will be busy this summer, leading up to Fairfax's 250th Birthday Party scheduled for Sunday August 18th. The Society will be meeting this Sunday May 19th at 7pm in the Fairfax Community Library to start to finalize plans for the summer. The public is invited to attend. The 26th annual Pie and Ice Cream Social will be held Sunday June 23rd at 7pm on the front lawn of the Baptist Building on Main Street. Concert by the Fairfax-Fletcher-Westford Band. We will be talking about trying a couple of different fundraisers. More info at the meeting. We are thinking about a bus tour of Fairfax will pilgrimages to the Braodstreet Spafford Homesite and cemetery. This may occur in October. The theme for the July 4th parade is Happy Birthday Fairfax. We need to design a float. Lots more to talk about. Again, this Sunday May 23rd, 7pm, at the Library. Hope to see you there.

Hello everyone!
I am still here, but I do tend to be tied up having dialysis three times a week. That and work and there isn't enough time to do other things. Here's an update:
I had my annual review a week or so ago, and I am 6th on the list (for my blood type)for a transplant down at Fletcher Allen. However, we are combined with Albany, NY so there may a few people ahead of me down there. One good note, because I am in the top 10 here, my name and bloodwork are being compared to any kidney that does come along. I talked with the transplant coordinater last October. At that time, she said organ donations were down across the country. Usually they do 50 transplants in a year at Fletcher Allen. Last year they were projecting 35. All I know is that when the phone call comes, it will be unexpected, and at a very inopertune time.
I will definitely let you know when the call comes in.

The Fairfax Fire Department held it's annual awards banquet Tuesday night. Chief Justin Hayes did a review of the 2012 year and previewed the coming year. Then the awards were handed out:
