Looks like from Route 104A to the top of Brush Hill the Line Painters had a little trouble finding the center of the road.  I usually follow the yellow line in the center of the road when I drive at night, but probably not a good idea here just in case a Trooper is following me.

Yeah, those lines were making me dizzy. In some places they are more than a foot off from the old ones.

I noticed that driving to St. Albans yesterday! I thought it was plain old Yankee frugality wanting to save money so they 'did it by eye.'

... So I take it the people directing traffic aren't the only ones on their cell phones? :)

Our guess was because they were putting the lines on a road where only half was paved, maybe the wheels of the truck, or any guide wheels for the paint equipment might have moved off the edge of the pavement causing it to shift, and overcorrecting trying to get it back on the pavement.

Why are they painting the lines before they're done??? Is it me, or is it as stupid as it seems?

Well, they've since been paved over.  It looked like a lower quality paint anyway.  I'm sure there's some DOT regulation that says the road needs to have lines painted within x number of hours of paving.  Since this is a project run/funded (sort of) by the state, I'm SURE they wouldn't waste any money on unnecessary paving!
