The family lived in Fairfax for a long time.

On April 26, 2019, Joyce C. Lamphere passed away at her home after a long battle with Neurological Lyme Disease.

She is survived by her husband Dolor Lamphere; her son Schuyler and his wife Aliza and grandson
Brennan; her daughter Bailey and her fiancé Marty Rabtoy and his sons Isaac, Tripp, and Maddox; her
mother Margaret (Peterson) Cootware; her siblings J. David Cootware (Susan), Diane Schwarm (Ron), Barbara Lehouiller (George), Janet Mazzola (Bob), Brenda Edwards (Tom), Rick Cootware, Tracey Hunt (Palmer), Jennifer Cary (Alan); her closest friends Marlene Corse and Candace Pratt; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is predeceased by her father William H. Cootware; her brothers Paul Cootware and William J.
Cootware.

Joyce worked for 33 years as a software engineer. In her retirement, she found great joy in being a driving force in their family sugaring business. She was deemed the “headlamp warrior” - always the last one out of the woods for the day; And nicknamed “Dynamite” (exciting, wonderful, and unpredictable) by her dad.

Joyce loved playing hockey with her partner-in-crime, Diane, gardening into the wee hours (also via headlamp), and spending time with her friends and family on the back deck. She was a gifted seamstress, a skill handed down to her by her mother, which came in handy when creating one of her many gag-gifts. She instilled in those around her the ability to have fun in most any situation. Her kind, selfless nature was felt by many, as she always found time to care for those in need, and never ceased to find the good in all.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joyce’s memory can be made to Sojourns Community Health Clinic, 4923 US Rte 5, Westminster, VT 05158, as it was her wish to raise awareness on the seriousness of Lyme Disease and to help others in their battles.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, May 3rd at A.W. Rich Funeral Home in Fairfax from 5-8pm. Joyce’s internment will be a private family service at the Binghamville Cemetery. A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held on Saturday, June 8th, 2019 at Fletcher Elementary School from 1pm to 4pm.

Obituary of Linda Baillargeon
Georgia, VT

Linda Ann Baillargeon, 64, of Georgia, left this life too soon on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the UVM Medical Center in Burlington.

She had no greater pride and found no greater joy than being with her grandbabies.  Watching the grandkids play sports or dance was always her favorite entertainment, and her star performers always knew she’d have a stash of peppermint patties to celebrate their accomplishments when they were done.  To them she was, and will always be, “the BEST Nana.”

In her free time, she would often sit in the sunshine with a book in her hands.  She enjoyed watching cooking shows and sharing new recipes with her family.  Her spaghetti and meatballs were made with love and were always considered a special treat by those at her table.

Born August 29, 1954 in Montpelier, the daughter of Janet Anjer Gallup, she graduated from South Burlington High School and went on to earn her Associates Degree from Champlain College. She worked as a dedicated employee for 25 years as Office Manager for Hammond Electric.  And all the while she raised us, loving us deeply, supporting us always with open arms and big hugs.

We are those who were lucky enough to know her best - her children; Trever Gosselin of Georgia, Kara (Brad) Lumbra of Berkshire, Jada (Benjamin) Walldroff of LaFargeville, NY and Tanikka (Gary) Morin of Georgia. Her grandbabies; Luke & Landon Lumbra, Piper, Eliana & Alexis Walldroff and Isabel and Mckenzie Morin; her mother, Janet Gallup; her siblings, Susan (John) Mailhotte, Michael Milo, Laurie (Robert) L’Ecuyer and her nieces and nephews, Sean (Kim) Rousseau, Adam Mailhotte, Brittany Mailhotte, D.J. (Stacy) Dutton, and Katrina (Scott) Payea. She is predeceased by her step-father, Ross Gallup.

Our pain is great at her loss, but our joy is great in having known her.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday January 25, 2019 from 3 to 6 pm followed by a funeral service at 6 pm in the Minor Funeral Home, Route 7 in Milton. A private burial will take place at a later date.

Those who wish, may make memorial contributions to the Ellie Bilodeau Memorial Book Fund to support and encourage the love for reading that she had via Peoples Trust Co. 25 Kingman St., St. Albans, VT 0578.

Fern was brought up in Edmonston, NB and was the oldest child in the family. At the age of four, she knew that she was going to be a teacher and led “classes” with her friends and four siblings. She loved figure skating, playing the piano and violin, tennis, movies, reading and dancing. She received her teacher’s degree at the University of N.B. in Fredericton, where she was the President of her class and Secretary of the student council. She raised her four children with love and devotion and was so proud of all of them. She took great pleasure in her oral recollections of each of their childhood memories. The family spent summers at the cottage on the Ocean in St. Thomas, N.B. Canada.

Fern was a wonderful teacher who was loved by her students. She had a special way of conforming to their individual needs. Fern taught language arts and french at BFA Fairfax for 25 years. After marrying Stephen, Fern retired and moved to Florida for winters and spent summers at the cottage in N.B. She stayed active during her retirement leading aerobic classes, walking and spending time with her children.
