A CHILLY EASTER IN VERMONT
Posted for Monday April 13th.......................
I posted this on my weather site:
http://www.myweatherlive.com/MikeCainF9

Winter is having a hard time leaving this year.
Easter Weekend saw sunny skies Saturday and cloudy skies Sunday, but a cold north/northwest wind has made people want to stay inside. At least I want to stay inside. The temperature is around freezing, and there have been snowflakes on and off all day.
It is strange how in the fall, it can easily cool off, but springtime, it has a hard time warming up.
We have had a variety of weather on Easter through the years. Sometimes it is warm, but rainy, others a beautiful day. Others cool, cold, or snowing.
I remember one Easter Sunday, back in the early 1980's, it was such a beautiful day, people were burning off some fields of dry grass before their Easter dinner. The Fire Department was ALL OVER TOWN that day putting out grass fires that got out of control.
Most of the frost is finally out of the ground, and the local high school baseball and softball teams held home scrimmages Saturday. They haven't had much field time this year. Most practices have been held inside.
One thing, though. The back lawn is looking greener.
