Winter Storm on April Fool's Day. No Fooling!

A *WINTER STORM WATCH* is in effect from late Thursday through Friday night. The storm will begin Thursday night and continue on Friday as heavy, wet snow moves into the area. The snow could mix with some rain at times in the valleys. At this point, we could be looking at 4-8 inches of new snow in the valleys and as much as 8 to 14 inches in evelations over 1,000 feet.

"Moisture for the trees" sounds good but not so much of it. The guys are still fixing damage from last time and from the freezing temps pulling the pipeline apart. Ah well, can't change the weather. Nothing to do but complain about it!

We like three of the four seasons.  Git-er-done before we make the trip up. Our only winter sport while we lived in Vermont was shoveling the darn stuff.

I make a motion that next February 2nd, they pull Phil out of his hole, shoot him, and serve him as a woodchuck pie for dinner.

I second part of that Mike as I was thinking we need to shoot that groundhog! I am really hoping it's the weather forecasters idea of a sick joke.

How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? Sorry, I just had to do it.

C'mon, what do you expect from a weatherman? They don't ever have to be right, they all have tenure--including Phil!

It kind of makes you wonder, who dreamed up the idea that the weather could be predicted accurately in advance?  Even with sophisticated radar, it's not much more accurate than it was without it.

Maybe the groundhog got it right once and that's how it became a legend!!??? ;-)

Henry    That wild storm and weather systemthat you're going to receive shortly has left it's mark on this area and where Mike McNall lives . Tons of severe windshears, violent thunderstorms and tornados are all around us and Mike. Some 10-12 inches of rain has fallen in the last 36 hours creating chaos and poor traveling. Ten inches of rain translates to 100 inches of snow if I remember correctly.....however haven't had the need for a shovel but perhaps a rubber raft will be needed.  Hope you all survive what's headed your way .  Stay safe !!!

It looks like all the hype was for nothing, thank goodness. It seems to be heading out to further East so we are only going to get a few inches at the most.
