All,
While we are all busy with our lives running about getting the goodies for the family please take a moment to give thanks and remember those who are serving and unable to be home with their families. Here is a link to a great little tune.

All,
Check out this nice article. The esteemed Sen Bernie Sanders provides some commentary. Not sure why my 401K is up for discussion and why they are evening discussing plans like this. Well, I actually do. To bad not many others understand where things are headed.

Good Morning,
Theory and application are two different animals. The definition does not include the exemption of elected officials from a program such as Public Health Care or Laws written. The world is full of these types of governing parties that have run or are their country into the ground and have severely restricted personal freedoms of the individual. On paper life is great, everyone is provided for, even those who choose to not try to better themselves or contribute to society in any fashion.
I am not advocating one political party over another, but I can say that Socialism does not work. Any one of the current parties in D.C. is so corrupt and self-centered that the American citizen is nominally helped by any Law passed. When the free candy is handed out who has bought it? Your children? Or maybe your grandchildren?

If the importing of products stopped from China or anywhere in the world is America in a position to be self sufficient? Other words can production of products used to get through daily life be put on the shelf for us. Take a look around your home and community and see what and where these everyday products come from. Senator Sanders and a whole slew of other elected citizens have secured pensions and medical care for their retirements at the cost of the middle class or working class American. What you have received is higher taxes, the country is further in debt to foreign nations, and obligated to import products so the debt is not called in.

How much time is needed for a Congressman or Senator to make a difference in regards fiscal responsibility, fixing what exists? Entitlement programs that we have are broke and are not being fixed. Instead new ones are created and funded with debt.

Here is a new word Oligarch.
http://ask.reference.com/related/Oligarchy+Government?&qsrc=2892&l=dir&o=10601
Oligarchy is a form of government where most political power effectively rests with a small segment of society (typically the most powerful, whether by wealth, military strength, ruthlessness, or political influence). ... Oligarchy is a government by the rich for the rich.

All,
Check out this article for the who's who of Congress is a member of Democrat Socialists of America. I imagine that it will not surprise anyone here in VT. Not sure our Constitution works well with Socialism, but then again these folks have done a lot to disable it and bypass what it stands for. Anyway maybe some will be interested in seeing how prevalent Socialists are in our Republic.

All,
An interesting article on one of the tracker sites. Jihadwatch. org is dedicated to exposing the "Islamist threat". A lot of interesting news and an eye opener for those who like to thing everything will be OK if we just talk to them and be nice. Articles cover anything regarding Islam, e.g. treatment of Jews, Christians, terrorism in general. It appears that a service member reported that some patrols are done without having a round chambered. In the article NATO would not comment, which makes sense. But, I have read other weird stories about how the Command is experimenting with tactics.

http://www.jihadwatch.org/2010/05/us-military-unit-in-afghanistan-ordered-to-patrol-with-unloaded-weapons.html

Original article: http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=37125

I called the VTANG IG and Family Readiness Center about this report to see if they could find any info. I did receive a call from Cmd Sgt Major ???, forgot the name. But, he commented that our troops lock and load outside the wire. However he said that he would push the question up the chain.

Check out the article and call your Congressman or VTANG to ask that the story be confirmed as fact or maybe something misreported. Just passing this along as things like this cannot be taken lightly.

Henry,
AT&T bought the Unicel license which covers the area. The tower is on Fairfield Hill just north of the radar site. Verizon has a tower on the north side of Hardack (Spelling?) Hill which does not reach over the ridge.
Others have commented above about the coverage so I thought I would mention tower location.

hmmm...

Would these be examples:

Buying votes to pass a health care bill that contained more then health care (I think it maybe call pork)?
Or giving ownership in a car company without investing in it?
Bailing out an auto company so the funds can be used to build plants off shore?
How about bailing out banks that were run into the ground?
Granting favors to the unions?

Of course this is all hypothetical.

Political Issues/Comments / Interesting 1987 Expose'

All,
If you can spare 90 minutes. Some folks may remember this.

Secrecy is the freedom that zealots dream of; no watchman to check the door, no accountant to check the books, no judge to check the law. The secret government has no constitution. The rules it follows are the rules it makes up. This is the full length 90 min. version of Bill Moyer’s 1987 scathing critique of the criminal subterfuge carried out by the Executive Branch of the United States Government to carry out operations which are clearly contrary to the wishes and values of the American people.

Chris,
Since you are running for office here is some interesting articles for you and anyone else who has time to read. Historical data from two different sources. I need to poke around at the .gov site for US Code and see what I can find there.

If anyone believed BHO then we really have problems. I remember when he was on 60 minutes a couple of years before he announced running for President. I knew then he was a Socialist and figured he would win if he ran. Remember that the socialist/communist governments won in different parts of the world because they were able to enlist the uneducated by promising money, and all sorts of goodies. In the end the human element was corrupt and only the wealthy benefited while life for everyone except the elite got worse.

All,
Here is another tax our representative government is considering. I imagine this could possibly make things more expensive?

http://www.cato.org/pub_display.php?pub_id=11668

Maybe it is time to get rid of politicians who have served over 6 years and get some new blood that understands a balanced check book?

All,
Check out this article. Socialism or Marxism? Not sure, but it sounds like we are going to experience some change.

Seems like the free lobotomies handed out at election time are going to payoff.
